I don't believe a starter has been named - so I guess we are going to have wait until tomorrow to find out.
Does anyone know if Godoi is playing tomorrow? Or he is going to miss the opener with that bad hamstring? |

Whoever it is needs to figure out how to be a big-boy goalie soon... the way they performed against army isn't going to fly. I have faith that the situation will figure itself out. _________________ "Weren't we up by 14?" - 78 |

Great start to the season! Good job guys.
Any witnesses to the game who can provide some insights?
Seems like they had a good 2nd period, and a good end to the game, but the third period and the start of the fourth seemed a bit shaky. How's the new G?
Hope to be there next week for the home opener. _________________ Peace is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading |

I listened. We dominated the first half in scoring and SOG and total shots. SH changed goalies at the half and he made some excellent saves and they scored four straight to tie at ten. We never trailed but our radio guys were not happy with the D, saying that they were often a step behind. We outshot them 55-32. _________________ "Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. I didn't get a chance to listen, but looking at the box score, it looks like we had the edge in most categories...58% on face-offs - Toresco 9/17 and Rushing 8/12 - that is definitely a positive and will hopefully give these guys some confidence goingforward.
It does look like SH cashed in when they had man-up opportunities. They were 5-7 on EMO's. 4 of those came in the 2nd half. That may be directly attributable to the D being a step behind and also certainly helped SH pull back into the game.
If anyone was at or saw video of the game - curious how McCormack looked between the pipes.....
All in all - sounds like a good start to the year. I can't believe its lacrosse season already..but i'm definitely fired up. |

A bit more info on the game from over at the LaxPower forums (3rd post down):
http://network.laxpower.com/laxforum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37289&start=100
The poster says the Colin Fleming, a freshman middie who started against SH injured his shoulder in the game and also talks about the penalty situation in the 2nd half which certainly helped the SH comeback.
Also - video highlights (from the news) are up on UMassAthletics within the game story. |
