Mike - It's still says Virginia in the list of free agent participants.

Summer League 2010 update w/the Rockets:

Official Stats & praise from ESPN's David Thorpe (via Twitter.)

Comments from a HOU blog:

Gary Forbes -- C (grade not position)

"Hasn't done much of anything. Slow first step, not too athletic. Then again, he's very comfortable on the drive and is able to corrall himself in order to put up a basket. I'd like to see more from him in these last two games."

One of the most athletic players on an a10 team doesn't translate into athletic in the NBA.

Nothing has changed....he is not a quick player, and never will be. He has great skills and body control. If he became a very good shooter, he's an NBA player. If not, he's just like dozens of other guys.....knocking on the door without quite getting in.

How cool would it be to have Gaffney and Forbes both make a team this year?

I think it's great for the guy that he's going to these training camps and getting to work out with NBA wannabees and legit NBA players. Whatever happens, he can look back at these years knowing he gave his best shot and also having a connection to to highest level of hoops.

Not sure about all that, but I jumped on Forbe's twitter account and there's some interesting convo's going on between him and Freddie, etc. Sounds like some hard core conditioning, because everyone's complaining!

http://twitter.com/GForbz3

sounds like Trey Lang (and apparantely Matt Hill) are negative - though also sounds like Forbes tells Freddie that Lang doesn't try hard so he shouldn't be taking what he says as gospel.

Of course I could be completely misunderstanding the words.

I like that the new tech allows the grads to stay in touch with the guys still in school, and that the grads want to.

This is like a whole new thread--DK is busting their chops. That's good news to me. The kind of team I wanna root for--Fan99 do they still say that?--is made up of players who are willing, no, eager, to push it to the max.
