| He also has W&M getting a bye. I wouldn't put too much stock in it. |

| I'd be more concerned with getting past Stony Brook. |

Agree. Just thought it was something of note. I think it also shows to the team that they cant overlook this weekend and next weekend. A loss to either team and there probably wont be many more posts in this topic. _________________ http://youtu.be/8i5A1Pn0z6k |

He too just like the pollsters have W&M ranked higher than UMass. Giving them a 5 seed and a first round bye. Whats with these people haha we beat them! That would be the ultimate road warrior challenge if the bracket actually came out like that. At James Madison. At Delaware. At App. St. All to get to the national title game. Hopefully, we can keep this thing going. I gotta believe if they go 5-2 the rest of the way they should get a 1st round bye and a home game. Call me crazy but I think if they can play jow they did against W&M, HC (1st half) and Michigan they are going win every game left except either a lost either at James Madison or at home vs Delaware. I know they haven't played well in the past at JM but for some reason I like the matchup this yr. We'll see that's a few weeks away. Gotta take care of Towson 1st then get healthy! Go UMass! _________________ Any team, any time, any place |

I wonder if he does it based on the season so far or based on predictions he makes as to how teams will finish the season. If it's based on the season so far, no idea how one could put William and Mary ahead of UMass. If it's based on how he thinks the teams will finish, that would be more understandable. _________________ I wish Hockey East was an all-sports conference. |

| Its fun to play around with different scenarios but there is so much football left to play and there are ALWAYS surprises in the CAA. So its really not worth much discussion at this point in the season. We just need to take care of business w/Towson. |

seems to be the former. but still, no way W&M gets a seed over James Madison. And that's a bold prediction Illinois State to win the MVC. I thought there was a no-same-conference-match rule for the first round... but I guess that counts as the second now? |

Yeah at best it's futile prognostication at this point. The things to keep track of for UMass fans are the Patriot and Northeast conference races, because if teams like Albany, Bryant, HC, Central CT win their division it increases our chances for home game(s) if we make the playoffs |

| This guy is an idiot because UMass and JMU cannot be set up to play each other. They try to avoid caa teams early in the brackets. Also JMU cannot have home playoff games this year as their stadium is under construction following their last home game of the season. |

When did they can the FCS playoffs to a 20 team field? I knows it's been 16 and I couldn't find any articles online about changing to 20. Just interestedto see something in print, maybe it'll break down when having teams from the same conference play each other is allowed. In the prelim/1st round? Quarterfinals/2nd round?
Edit: I found this at the bottom of the nobowls.com page in terms of some rules for seedings:
•Seeding the top five teams and spacing them accordingly across the bracket
•Avoiding first round match-ups with teams from the same conference (Note: The round of 16 is now the "second round")
•Creating geographically-friendly match-ups that follow the NCAA's 400-mile limitations when possible
•Giving home field advantage to schools that historically have made winning bids
So if this was correct then matching UMass with JMU would be okay in the Quarterfinals/2nd round.
Also, has JMU said that they definately will not be able to host any home playoff games? That would be outrageous if their team had the number 1 seed and homefield advantage through the semi's and couldn't play on the field they've played on all year. Reasonable thinking would say they'd wait till they no longer needed the field to start working on it. But hey, that requires reasonable thinking... _________________ Any team, any time, any place |

From AGS:
"JMU is negotiating to rent Richmond's old stadium, City Stadium. The place is kind of a dump, but it holds 22k. The Richmond area is also the home of JMU's second largest alumni base behind DC." _________________ "Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. | Richmond moved into an 8,700 seat stadium. Really? I'm embarrassed when we have that many people in the stands. |
