After 3 home games, we're averaging 14,282 attendance per game for the season. The highest ever season average I can find on the UMass website is 14,684 in 1999, the year after the national championship. It'd be very hard to counter the annual November attendance fade and get the 15290 we'd need in each of the last 2 games to set a new high mark, but maybe Band Day and a highly-ranked, well-traveling Delaware give us a chance.

Band Day (and good weather) gives us a huge chance. I have a good feeling about breaking that record.

The Band's "Band Day" web page predicts 17,000.

Our annual Band Day family tailgate will provide 15 of them.

Pete, that was awesome! Definitely got me amped up for the game on Tuesday!

On a side not, I watched the highlights (if thats what you want to call them, and unfortunately it slightly killed my buzz from Pete's hype video) of the Richmond after Pete's hype vid. And guess what I forgot all about from that game? The first time we had first and goal against Richmond guess what play we ran? The play action!!! Surprising how often it's worked for them this year when they don't run the ball up the middle again and again.

Okay that's all my venturing for the day. again great job Pete on the video, would love to see more of them throughout the year/sports. Go UMass! Beat Maine!!

Cool video Pete. Hopefully you will have lots of highlights from the Maine game to mix in.

Getting more nervous as game time approaches. Maine is always more up for this game than we are and they beat the UNH team which crushed us. And let's not forget that the first 3 quarters of the JMU game were drawn from the same blueprint as all the other post-Michigan games. I would really, really like to see us build on the 4th quarter of the JMU game and come out firing on all cylinders for the first time in 5 games.

And this being Band Day, let's finally win a game at which the band has played since the death of George Parks. We're 0-3 in those games. We're actually 3-0 when they haven't played. Let's not have that become a "thing".

Definitely not going be a cakewalk today. I think today is the day the defense needs to and can show their muscle. I've been begging for some takeaways from them for weeks now and today I think it happens. Maine doesn't have an offense to write home about. The defense should build on what they started last week and make some big plays today.

Offensively, we should be in a great position to mive the ball all day. That is if Morris is willing to mix things up a bid. Obviously he wants to run the ball, its all he's talked about in the papers all week. But Maine has the worse passing defense in the CAA. Use the run and play action to take advantage of that, early and often. Dont be affraid to air it out a little in the first half. That should completely soften their run defense too and Maine should be totally on their heels come the 2nd half with UMass moving the ball in the air and on the ground. As long as Morris is willing to mix it up and not do the normal run-run-pass deal.

Should be a beautiful day at the stadium today. I look for the defense flexing their muscle and the offense moving the ball effectively with some big plays mixed in there. UMass may slip up and miss the postseason, but it doesn't happen today at home.

UMass 27 Maine 13

Anyone know why Band Day is now promoted to elementary and middle school bands, when it used to be jr and sr high bands? Seems you would have more interest and higher quality music from the older kids.

My guess is because many high schools do play on Saturday, versus Friday nights, in order to avoid issues with alcohol and such.

Great call on the kickoff--Tanguay (Maine grad and huge homer) already sounds sad.
