College Hockey Friends,
I have an opportunity later this year to go out to Colorado Springs on a Friday. Therefore, I want to take in a college hockey game while I'm out there. Air Force and Colorado College have home games the night I'm in Colorado Springs.
Which game do you recommend I attend?
I was thinking CC is the more unique experience but I was hoping to get an opinion from some of our posters who have been out there.
Thanks!
P.S. - Denver is away that weekend so that's not an option. _________________ UMass: Where Amazing Happens |

| Tough call, I'd probably go to CC, but Air Force probably isn't a bad take either. |

We've made the trip to Colorado Springs a couple of times to see UMass play CC. It's always a fun time. They play their games at The World Arena, which is pretty nice. They have very loyal fans and always draw well. CC is always a top team and this season they start out ranked 8th. The Arena is not far from downtown. Some cool bars and restaraunts. IIRC, Air Force is a few miles north of the city. We've never seen a game there, so don't know much about it. _________________ 'Fight On' You Loyal Sons and Daughters of Metawampe. |

| You'll probably see better hockey at CC. You'll probably have better access to tickets at Air Force (because who the hell wants to see UConn hockey?). |

Thanks for all the tips so far!
CC plays Bemidji State and Air Force plays Niagara.
Sounds like the consensus is CC. My hotel is walking distance from the World Arena so that'll be easy for me to get to. _________________ UMass: Where Amazing Happens |

CC's arena is much nicer, but there is something really cool about the Cadet Ice Rink. If you want to see Colorado hockey at it's best - and can't make it to a Pioneers game - Colorado College is your best bet.
If you do ever get a chance, you have to see a game at Denver. The campus and arena are really something to behold. I would have been there for law school, but, um, I wasn't a viable candidate. _________________ "Wherever I go, I’ll never be bashful about being from UMass, baby.” -Victor Cruz |

Ironically enough DU is in Boston that weekend with back-to-back games against CHU and BU. _________________ UMass: Where Amazing Happens |

Hotel makes it an easy decision....however I went out there once and have been to both. World Arena is a nice albeit cookie cutter stale arena. Up the road, Air Force's arena, when I was there, is something like Tate Arena at Army. If it were Wisco or Minny coming to town, seeing CC host would be a no brainer, but...
Treat yourself to the Air Force campus in the day and drive by the football stadium especially. Beautiful. |
