|
|
In my boredom, I've stumbled upon a bunch of names for the class of 2013 that we're at least being linked to. Only one mentions an offer, so I figured it made more sense to compile them into one thread for the time being. Also, if any of these guys already have their own threads, my bad.
1) Malik Price-Martin- 6'8" PF from Miami Gardens, FL
| Quote: | | • One of the better players in the Class of 2013, Malik Price-Martin (Miami Gardens, Fla./ Monsignor Edward Pace) continues to make strides in his game. As one of the nation's best underclassman, he scores well from 15 feet and in plus has a good IQ for the game. Defensively, he is long and uses that length to block and contest shots. His early list of schools are Miami (FL), Florida, Florida state, Kentucky, Louisville, UConn, Kansas State, Syracuse, UMass and California. |

2) Andre Walker- 6'10" Center from Clarksburg, MD
| Quote: | | Among the top local players represented were Germantown resident Andre Walker, a 6-foot-10 rising junior at Clarksburg High School. Walker competed for Mid-Atlantic Select and has already drawn interest from major Division I programs such as Maryland, DePaul, Cincinnati, UMass and Wake Forest. |

3) Josh Brown- 6'2" G from St. Anthony's (NJ)
| Quote: |
Josh Brown, a 6-foot-2 class of 2013 combo guard out of St. Anthony’s (NJ), is coming off a superb spring with Sports U/Team IZOD. However, he said he has no scholarship offers at this point.
As far as interest, Brown said he is hearing from St. Joseph’s, Temple, La Salle, Rutgers, Seton Hall, UMass, Connecticut, Iona, Florida Atlantic, and others. After listing Temple as his favorite in the spring, Brown said he no longer has any favorites.
“I like every school,” Brown said of his recruitment. “It’s just wide open right now.”
Florida Atlantic, Rutgers, St. Joseph’s, and La Salle are the schools that Brown said are coming after him the hardest.
Last month Brown took a visit to St. Joseph’s, which he said was his first campus trip. He plans to get out to some more schools, including Temple and Rutgers, come August. |

4) John Davis- G/F
| Quote: | Class of 2013 G/F John Davis out of Neumann-Goretti also was a vital member of N-G’s championship club this past winter. In fact, it was Davis who led the way with 16 points and 8 rebounds and knocked down two important foul shots to give Neumann-Goretti a 59-55 victory over Archbishop Carroll to win its third consecutive league title.
Davis told NBE’s Matt Whitfield that the schools in contact in one form or another are Delaware, UMASS, St. Joseph’s, Rutgers, Villanova, Seton Hall, George Mason, Rider, Towson, Niagara and La Salle. |

5) Stanford Robinson- 6'4" SG from Fairfax, VA
| Quote: | Class of 2013 shooting guard Stanford Robinson of Paul VI High School is one of the top prospects coming into the Hoop Group Elite camp and his recruitment certainly backs that up.
“I got an offer from Miami, Rutgers and UMASS,” said Robinson. “Xavier has been calling as well as Georgetown, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and a lot of ACC and Big East schools. I got some calls from Syracuse as well.”
Calls from schools in the BIG EAST and other major conferences keep Robinson pushing towards his goals and making him feel like the hard work is beginning to pay off, motivating him to keep pushing.
“The calls from Syracuse makes me feel like I’m an elite player and I need to keep working so I can have more of these schools like Syracuse keep calling.
My goal is to play at an elite [basketball] school.”
Robinson has been to NC State on an unofficial visit and will hope to take a few more trips in August. |

Kellogg is doing a great job establishing the credibility of the UMass name among recruits. If he can start to win on the court, I think we'll see a very high caliber of recruit choosing to play here.
Thanks for the update. _________________ Always remember that you are unique, just like everyone else. |

I don't mind having separate threads for recruits. In fact, I prefer it, now that we're using the Wiki recruiting page to track individual people.
