While the team is playing a lot better as of late, one thing that drives me crazy: They just don't shoot the puck enough on the power play. Thus, they hardly score power play goals. 0-2 tonight and 1 for their last 17. I just don't get why Toot doesn't change it up.

On the other hand, the Minutemen have killed off 17 of the last 19 power plays against them. That is pretty good stuff.

Ballgame

Massachusetts -4
Vermont -3

Not perfect by any stretch but its another Mullins Center victory and 2 more conference points heading into the big home/home with Lowell. Students return next week.

Had to miss the last two periods. Fired up by the win and another season series victory. Maybe, just maybe, this team is getting close to finding that consistency many of us have been seeking.

I realize the fluctuating results have been frustrating, and sometimes the on-ice performance has been more exaggerated than the results, but you could paint the same narrative for almost any NCAA hockey team. If you want to point out a weird dichotomy for this team, aren't our unprecedented 8-0-3 home record and 0-7-2 road record the more telling numbers?

Doing my best to enjoy the season and this nice streak, but the above is so true until proven otherwise and as pointed out on the radio, it'll be interesting to see this team in back to back situations again. Ironically or maybe not so ironically, they're only loss in this 5-1-2 run was the only back to backer since November. the championship game vs. Maine in Florida. Sorry, but I'm going to be slow becoming a convert, but still I enjoy winning more than losing. And who doesn't?

When I talk inconsistency, I am talking more over the past several seasons, not just this year. It seems almost every season they have a stretch where they are playing good hockey and then all of a sudden they forget how to play hockey. What I am hoping I am seeing this year is that they got that forgetting how to play hockey out of their system early on.
