That is a slogan adopted by UNH to prevent student violence on campus, even uttered by the UNH president.
Once again, Southwest manages to do us un-proud.

This will of course reverberate with the James I. introduction of being from ZooMass, a nice one two punch for the campus' brand.
Mass Live and Boston.com have already reported on it.

I want to see EVERYBODY caught in the videos taken to be expelled. Until the university grows some balls and drums out 100-500+ of these bastards including the semi-involved bistanders and spectators it'll keep happening.
And I don't want to hear "I was just walking home." Bull**** when there's been talk circulating all week. If you didn't want to get involved you would just stay inside. |

| People still have a right in this country to assemble and act like stupid college students -for the most part the students did nothing except yell like idiots. which the last time I checked wasn't a crime. For those few who engaged in actual criminal conduct like vandalism or fighting - throw them out. |

And if they act like stupid college students then its in the college's rights to expell them for violating the student code of conduct for participating in and/or encouraging an unlawful assembly (last I checked nobody filled in any lawful protest paperwork as is law) and ignoring a dispersal order from civil authorities. Attending college is a privilage, not a right. If they're too stupid to understand that then good bye. |

Any attempt to expel every kid who stood around chanting "giants suck" would likely be challenged in court and overturned by a judge in about 15 minutes. The campus isn't a totalitarian police state and We don't just expel people for acting like an idiot one night during college. Its just not a very practical proposal.

I won't touch on the riots which are ridiculous at this point, but I do think there is some negative inference to be drawn from UMass students allowing their names to be printed in the newspaper from the riots when the school specifically notified the students that violating the edict that they should not gather at southwest after the game could/would result in punishment.
It's tough to identify students from video images, it's easy to identify students who give their name and dorm residence to the newspaper from the scene of the crime. _________________ Sons of Old Massachusetts

| it was a ninety minute riot, with 14 arrests. doesn't seem fair to me that there's newspaper articles on this in every major east coast paper today. |

No, it's not fair, but when you've got idiots determined to do stupid things after about TWO WEEKS of the administration telling them not to do Stupid Things And That There Will Be Consequences If You Do, and they did those Stupid Things anyway, what do you expect? Especially with all eyes on us with Victor C winning a ring.
It would be one thing if they just gathered to blow off steam, then left when the cops showed up. I can understand that. Those kids should be bounced. Sorry guys, you're officially an "example." _________________ "All life we work, but work is a bore. If life's for living, what's living for?" - Ray Davies |

| i'm not arguing that these people aren's stupid, but 1500 people gathered and it took cops just 90 minutes to get them to leave. these newspapers had reporters waiting for something to happen. |

Don't listen to Boston sports radio much so I don't know how much UMass gets talked about, but the Hub was making fun of the two girls who recorded the most popular video last night. Actually pretty funny despite the subject.
Did anyone else see the Collegian article ( http://dailycollegian.com/2012/02/06/breaking-umass-students-gathe-after-super-bowl/ )?
| Quote: | | “I love rioting,” said sophomore communication major Sarah Ellis, before the police’s first dispersal order. “This is my second riot; I was here for the Osama [bin Laden] riot. This is nothing compared to that one.” |
More quotes with names attached at that link. Also a photo gallery with people's names. Seems like UMass could easily hand out punishment. _________________ http://youtu.be/8i5A1Pn0z6k |

| I agree with Wardy. Get rid of these morons. Its embarrassing to the University and listening to the guys at the office throwing one liners out about "Zoomass" is getting on my nerves. |

| by and large, i'd say the university's anti-riot efforts pre-game worked as this was the smallest riot in recent times. it's just sensationalized once again by the media who had reporters on campus waiting to report on ANYTHING that happened. if there had been no riots, they would not have reported on anything in amherst and the reporters would have gone looking for something else to stir the pot about. |

| Hmmm, I heard that UMass was getting a better caliber student lately. How did a complete idiot like Sarah Ellis get admitted? |
