I am considering changing cable providers from Comcast to Verizon FIOS. One channel that FIOS offers is ESPN Buzzer Beater, also known as ESPN Goal Line during the College Football season.

Wanted to know if anyone has this channel and what your thoughts are on it. Would be good to know if they've seen any clips or live look-ins from UMass hoop/A-10 games, or from any past UMass football or MAC games.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I've had FIOS for almost 2 years and have not yet watch the Buzzer Beater channel. This is the first year they're doing it whereas they've done the Goal Line thing for the past two years.

Goal Line and Buzzer Beater only show games that air on the ESPN family of networks or on ESPN3. Because most televised A10 games are distributed by CBS, you would not see them on there unless it were one of the few A10 games picked up by ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU, or if UMass were playing on the road against a conference that had a deal with ESPN.

As far as the MAC goes, they have a deal with ESPN so their televised games will show up there. But if the MAC is on TV you're probably going to be able to watch the whole game on ESPN3, which you get if you have Comcast internet.

If you're interested in these channels anyway, you may not have to switch providers. Comcast and Disney reached an agreement to carry Goal Line and Buzzer Beater on their system. I imagine it will probably be available for football season.

Buzzer Beater is a weird channel, being that it only airs on Wednesday and Saturday from 7pm-11pm (at least on my package). Seems like a very cool concept, I just wish that it was aired more frequesntly (all day Saturday would be great).

If you catch it at the right moment, it's fun to follow.
