| What really leads to the urban myth thing about free throw shooting is that it is the only part of the game that an average Joe watching the game can honestly think: "I can do that." So every time you watch your team lose as a result of a missed free throw, it sticks with you. |

Yet if I say it after a loss, someone will think I'm shifting the blame to DK. It's not like I'm not happy with the win and it's not like we have an active "Fire DK" thread to mention these types of things. _________________ There ain't no days off. | Win OR lose, I'm not saying you can't 'second guess' Kellogg's decisions. I was just giving you a reason as to why he might have gone to JF at that juncture. Farrell is a 6'5" 215 pound junior with a LOT of playing time who has been known t play tough defense, shoot FTs, get a few steals AND get a rebound. Esho is a freshman with limited ball handling skills compared to Farrell and he's not as good from the line. End of game situation, I didn't disagree with Kellogg's substitution and you did. Difference of opinion and we move on to The Welders. |

Great game for UMASS. After about 10 minutes in the first half, GW never seemed in this game. I haven't seen them play live since the last time they played GW. Completely different team. With dribble drive they all looked lost as if they were trying to figure where they needed to be and what to do. This time they looked comfortable and just played ball. Great win.
The pre-game event was a big success. Well over 100 people attended with a representative from the athletic department and a world famous scribe
A big thank you to Mike for supporting our event on this site.
On to the NCAA tournament. GO UMASS! |

And a big thank you to Kahuna, for organizing a nice group. That's a big part of getting back to the big time. Travelling well is a big part of getting where we want to go as an atheltic department....
I could hear you guys on the broadcast....nice work. |

No, you are not to assume that. But I can see how you could surmise that, based on my wording there.
I am definitely not a member of the athletic department. |

There is the confusion. I can see where he may have interpreted that way |

this was one of my favorite games from last year, just dropping bombs from deep and dominating athletically. there hadn't been any highlights of this game anywhere, but someone has posted the full game recording to youtube. |

I had an absolute blast at the Smith Center for this one. Brought five or six buddies (none of whom had any affiliation with UMass or UMass basketball) and made a ton of noise with the other UMass fans. That was one of the better road showings of UMass fans that I've seen, though a solid couple hundred were pretty quiet and probably there more for the alumni event. Still, a ton of maroon was in the building and it made a difference. If you ever get a chance to go to the Smith Center, you should. Really fun and loud facility. My hope, by the way, is that UMass fans can absolutely take over the building a Fordham this year. I think with some advance hype we could turn that place into a home court advantage. I believe it's a Saturday or Sunday game, so we should get a huge showing. _________________ Muck Fax Page |
