You can see the difference in recruiting already! We are aggressively
recruiting early and against stiff competition. We will have around 40
recruits on campus in the next few weeks and with a 21 for 22 success
rate this year we can expect a few of these higher level players to
commit.

All part of Charley's "Two Year Recruiting Plan" ..it's AWESOME to see recruiting efforts like this happening!

Without anything but twitter to go on, it looks like he had quite a few kids on campus. I like where this is going. Also, it seems as though the current team is working out on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Per Gr8ness' post about Brendan Hall's tweet: The tight end we offered to is Brendan O'Neil (2013) from Burlington, MA. Scout has the offer, ESPN does not yet.

Read on Twitter that Daquan Peterson, a running back from Hoboken, N.J. was on campus this past weekend. Kid plays an undersized fullback in a Wing T system, which, in my opinion, negates the need for a big fullback - lineman are typically the operative cogs.

Not much out there right now, but he is mentioned in this preview:

There was mention on Twitter that he has interest from: UMass, Rutgers, Buffalo, Colorado, Florida State, Florida and Oregon.

Kevin Weller, a quarterback from Illinois, was tweeting about his weekend at UMass, and how much he enjoyed it:

Quote:
My visit to UMass was amazing S/O to all the players who showed us around campus and the new coaching staff filled w/ great high-energy men

According to Rivals, Weller is being recruited by some of our new neighbors (Central Michigan and Northern Illinois) among others.

Brendan Hall from ESPNBoston (and UMass grad) has some recruiting news.

First, he has a little more on Tight End Brendan O'Neil. He also mentions John Van Allen, a guy I haven't heard about yet. Van Allen is a WR/Db from Avon farms.

Here's the link to ESPN Boston:

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/high-school/post/_/id/13998/umass-offers-oneil-van-allen-mcdonald

Also, via ESPN, Van Allen has a few other suitors:

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/136032/john-van-allen

ESPN has him clocked at a 4.81 - seems a little slow, but who knows where that info comes from.

Brendan also tweeted that we are interested in Jack McDonald from B.C. High.

So I'm seeing around Twitter that several recruits are on campus for "Junior Day." Did any of you guys that went to the double header see anyone that looked like a future Minuteman.

By the way - what a great weekend to have Junior Day.

"Good day at Umass like the coaches and the talent there"

Personal Note: This is awesome.

Pennsylvania quarterback Brandon LaVia tweeted that he was at UMass' Junior Day, he's getting interest from a few other schools:

New Hampshire lineman John Martin tweeted that he was at Junior Day as well. Not much out there about him, but here's what I've seen thus far:

Chris Nee, a reporter for Rivals, Tweeted that we made an offer to Reggie Brown, a defensive back from the Tampa area. Looks like Bethune Cookman also offered - methinks one of our new coaches put UMass' name on the table.
