I attended UMass. Apparently, based on national media talking heads, over the past few years, it is now UMass. When did it change? I didn't get the memo Sad

When I moved out here to Seattle (back in the 80's) I was asked who were UMass's big rivals. I told everyone, BC and UConn were a couple of biggies. I was then asked, why would UMass play a bunch of Canadian teams. When I gave the the RCA Victor dog look, they seriously thought I meant Yukon and British Columbia.

I used to have this conversation ALL THE TIME with friends at school. I personally went to UMass, coming from out of state. All my Massachusetts friends said they went to UMass.

Grew up in Amherst going to games before the cal years. Went to bridgewater state as an aviation major.

Maybe it's an out-of-state thing, but like Kosty, I also went to UMass. I'm thinking it evolved from the "Let's go U Mass" , "Here we go U Mass" chants popular back in the day,
