Big Shots U vice president and national recruiting director Kevin Schneider is tweeting that UMass assistant Antwon Jackson made an offer to Deshaun Morman, a 2012 shooting guard recruit from Virginia.

Here is Morman's Rivals page: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Deshaun-Morman-113478

Scout: http://ucla.scout.com/a.z?s=12&p=8&c=1&nid=5554787

NOTE: From what I gather, Big Shot U is essentially just a company that hypes college athletes and runs tournaments.

Don't know why we would want to add a shooting guard to a class that already includes Jordan Laguerre and Trey Davis.

Because after next year you lose Freddie and Javorn, bringing in a SG means a potential redshirt situation. Not likely, but i wouldn't knock DK for that.

im not sure if Trey Davis is coming cause he is no longer at VA and no longer on any recruiting sites...But we still don't need a Guard we need a 6'10" Center

I hope your right. But I think he just transferred and probably not listed because he committed a year ago. The transfer of him should also raise concerns, on top of everyone elses. I just don't think hes going to do much. I have been emphatic and in support of all DK's recruits but this guy. I don't know anything about this guy though is he a player or not, don't see him listed on ESPN

That YouTube mixtape is actually quite impressive. It's the first I've heard of him, but a nice first impressive IMO.

He was on campus visiting for the final home game against URI.

Impressed by his mixtape as well, showed a lot of different dimensions to his game.

Honestly, just watched his mix tape... the kid can play for sure! Yes, loved that he seems to be a heady player too; smart ballplayer. Multi-dimensional combo guard w/ solid ball-handling skills, quick moves - takin'/breakin' down defenders off the dribble, pro-hop, slasher, hits the 3, good timing/mixing in a little shotblockin' @ 6'4", etc...

Looks like his overall playing style screams UMass Basketball! I think he showcases the skillz DK is looking for... we should definitely grab this kid. If he's a good character guy, I think we should offer him a scholarship pronto.

I think what I like best about this guy is that he's likely to wear magical shorts.

Agree with Hazel. This young man's skills are perfect for UMass's style of play. He would thrive here. Nice to see his defensive game which will keep him on the court as much as his offensive skills. Active active active.

Wow. Just wow.

Dribbling and penetration skills comparable to Javorn. A smooth three point stroke like Chaz. Speed and on the ball defense skills of Jesse/Freddie.

I'm sold. Anyone who says we don't need another 2 has not seen this guys tape yet.

Worth noting that he is a member of Virginia Assault, which is a member of the DC Assault AAU network. We have 3 alums of that AAU program currently with us. Javorn Farrell, Maxie Esho, and our assistant coach Antwon Jackson (who offered him). Here's hoping that recruiting connection is alive and kicking.

After last night, they need both. Chaz can't be expected to play 40 mins every game. They need a backup PG jsut as badly as a center

Trey Davis has tweeted on many occasions about playing at UMass next year.
