That school in South Bend (I call it TSISB so I don't have to use the name) has about the most arrogant fans in college football. They do think the world revolves around them. It doesn't help that the Chicago media fawns over them at the expense of schools actually in Illinois.
So it's nothing personal to UMass. They're like that to everyone. |

| That's OK, we're used to it. The Boston media fawn over Boston College and they think their state university is located in Durham, New Hampshire. |

Well said Dr G, the BC bias has always been clear to everyone but this latest fascination with UNH is particularly appalling. Anyone that watched the college hockey games held at Fenway this year would have thought the NESN broadcast was actually a UNH production, f'ing ridiculous. _________________ UMass '87 |

Well, BC has been the only major football program in MA for quite some time, so hopefully if UMass has a little success on the FBS level, that will change and UMass will garner a bigger share of the media attention - I don't think BC has anywhere near the pull in MA that ND does in Indiana.
Regarding UNH - that's the first I've heard of that. From the discussion, I'm guessing this is hockey related? Not that it's justified, but UMass hasn't been that impressive in hockey lately, so it's not all that surprising. |

Any word on whether this is an open practice or not? My schedule may actually allow me to go and I'd love to get an early glimpse of the team if I can. |

| Notre Dame now obligated to play 5 ACC games every year....I think this committment might be in trouble. |

Matty V wrote about this in his article today:

It would not appear that our game is in that much jeopardy. Notre Dame already has 4 ACC games scheduled that year, (BC, Wake, Pitt, Syracuse). The BC game does not have a date yet. However, ND does still have 2 open dates on their 2015 schedule, with 1 remaining game to fill. All they need to do is find another ACC team that has an open date on on of those 2 remaining open dates and they will be able to complete the schedule. _________________ UMass Football-2013 MAC Champions!!!!! |

Thanks, hadn't seen that.
I wonder if those ACC games will stay, though. ND scheduled them as Non-con games....now I'm sure they'll be on some rotation type thing with the ACC. Up in the air, but reason for optimism I guess. |

Continuing on my post above: Notre Dame's 3 open dates in 2015 are:
-October 3, October 24, and October 31.
-One of those dates will be against Boston College.
The following ACC teams have open dates/games available (with the number)
-Clemson (2 games)
-Florida St. (1 game)
-Georgia Tech (1 game)
-Maryland (1 game)
-NC State (3 games)
-North Carolina (3 games)
-Virginia (2 games)
-VA Tech (1 game)
It is also important to note that of the 8 teams listed above, for the games that they already do have scheduled, none of them are on any of the 3 dates that ND has open in 2015. My point being, I don't think that it will be too tough to schedule 1 more game against an ACC team. In fact, rumor is that ND and Georgia Tech are working on a home and home for 2014 and 2015. _________________ UMass Football-2013 MAC Champions!!!!! |

| Right, the dates seem to work ok. But don't you think the ACC is going to have some say in the 5 games that must be played? Isn't there a chance that the games already scheduled will be wiped out? |

Duke does not have any open dates in 2015, that is why I did not include them. _________________ UMass Football-2013 MAC Champions!!!!! |

Don't kid yourself, ND will be calling the shots; they'll play who they want, when they want. _________________ UMass '87 |

| ND is setting themselves up to fatten up their schedules on the poor sisters of the ACC for sure. I can see annual games against Duke, Wake, UNC, BC and UVa until one of them gets better and then they'll just sub in a team on the decline. Delivers them 5 wins per year off the bat!!! |
