UMass was mentioned on the Rachel Maddow show on friday night. She was citing some poll about Scott Brown that was done by UMass. She did clarify by saying, "...a poll from the university of massachusetts at amherst" but I'm okay with that cuz it gives the amherst campus a national shout-out and she didn't say UMass Amherst.
Plus she's a local so no harm there. I didn't even know we did polls, freakin Quinnipiac always gets credit for those. |

| interesting fact about rachel. she won her first broadcasting gig in a radio contest (i believe for WRNX but could be wrong there). i'm not as liberal as she is but i tune in to her show occasionally because i like her witty, factual approach to the news. |

I stumbled onto a network special on golf in Hawaii today. One of the folks interviewed was Billy Kenoi, UMass '93, who is mayor of the Big Island. He talked about playing the local courses, surfing and about the volcano.

At the end of the Nick and Artie show from 2/7/12 Nick Dipoalo was asking about what happened to UMass basketball. He and Artie don't know much about sports, but they're entertaining and had a couple of interesting anecdotes about how much they've enjoyed the school.
Hour three, about 30 min before the end of the show:

Not sure if this was ever posted anywhere. Apologies if it was.
"The Hall of Fame exhibit tells many stories, and for Bernstein, it's appropriate that this career accomplishment comes less than 30 miles from where his basketball photography career got started. Before he transferred to the Arts Center College of Design, he was a student at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and his first published photo was of UMass player Alex Eldridge in 1975."
