Good thing Granderson hit 3 out last night. Yanks needed each of those runs to squeak past the Twinkies.

Looking forward to seeing the Yankees and the Red Sox in their throwback uniforms this afternoon.

I like the Yankee hats.

Great day at Fenway yesterday.

The pre-game hoopla was very well done.

So was the home run barrage.

Where can I get one of those throw back Yankee hats?

LS is in world series happiness mode after yesterday Laughing

Will Bobby V make it thru the season? I don't think so. The pressure in Boston is huge and I think the crowd bothers him more than he likes to think. Need thick skin to manage in beantown, and unless he gets this thing on track soon and the players united, this season could turn ugly very fast. Don't know what others think, but so far, I don't get the impression the players like him all that much

Actually I was concerned...

Texiera wasn't hitting

Garcia wasn't pitching well...5 wild pitches in his last start and he got shelled early yesterday.

In fact, of the starters only Nova has a decent ERA.

Like yesterday's game, which wasn't over after the 5th, the season is young...lots of baseball yet to be played.

The Sawks players probably like him as much as I like them!

Fans are always over the top in Boston. They'll blame Valentine but he's fielding a Triple A outfield and, IMO, catcher and a third baseman who should be DHing. Not to mention relief pitching that would have trouble winning in single A. The front office didn't hand him a "loaded" team by any means. Plus, 162 games is a long season and they've only played 14 of them!!

He shouldn't have been hired in the first place, and topping that off with only a 2 year contract doesn't help things.

With that said, I am very happy the 100 year celebration was with the Yankees in town.

I'm not saying it's all Valentine's fault, because they're playing like shit, but I agree with IV that he shouldn't have been hired --Tito should still be there. And there's some pretty good talent on Yawkey Way, definitely enough to be playing better that they are. Valentine's got a funny way about him, and I don't think most people connect with him, and I'm not so sure the players do yet either. There's no clear leader and no real identity to this team yet. But the fans & media will be on him until things get better, so I hope he can handle it, or John Henry & the boys will be spending more time at the races or watching soccer

^ Name the healthy "talent" and then explain to me how it's enough to win the East against teams like Tampa and the Spankmees.

Beckett, Buckholtz, Lester, Bard, Ortiz, Gonzalez, Pedroia, Youk, Ellsbury (for a while) & Aceves are all good big league talent that should have this team out of last place even with Crawford out and no real shortstop. Little early to win the East, but if you're saying they are a last place team and are right where they should be right now, I'd have to say I disagree.

same team that went 6-20 to finish last season. 4-10 to start this one is actually an improvement, percentagewise.
