According to Rivals, he is from the Bronx. His stock appears to be rising.

On Jan. 28th I tweeted this to Alex Kline:

@TheRecruitScoop I am suprised Dayshon Smith isn't getting more offers. Saw him play NDPrep..... Very impressed. -- (@Chizzle15)

It was in response to this tweet:

2013 Putnam Science (CT) PG Dayshon Smith had 15 points, 11 assists & 8 rebounds. Fairfield, Quinnipiac, RMU & St. Peter's have offered. -- Alex Kline (@TheRecruitScoop)

Those are some solid numbers against a VERY good NDPrep team..... Btw, Dayshon retweeted my reply to Alex Kline... I would be very happy to get him, he can drive to the basket at will and has a nice outside shot.

Love this blog post about him. Not because of the writeup, which is nice but check out the array of familiar faces on the sidebars.

Alex Kline from the Recruit Scoop reported yesterday via twitter that we offered him. Said he also had an offer from Wichita State. This kid plays for the Lightning out of NY, which at least used to be Dana Dingle's program...and Dana owes us one after letting his brother slip to Temple...Joking. Sort of...

Dana didn't let his brother slip to Temple, he sent him to Temple.

Insider article titled "Dayshon Smith is more than a scorer now." Highlights his move from the 2 to the 1 and how it has helped his stock rise dramatically. Will play either position in college, lists offers from "Illinois, Dayton, Rhode Island, UMass, Richmond, St. Bonaventure and Drexel along with a long list of other mid-major programs while Syracuse, Providence, Pittsburgh, Memphis and Indiana are all showing additional interest." Plenty of visits scheduled, none to UMass as of now.

I have mentioned in other threads and also in this one on how I feel about prospects because I am able to go to many Notre Dame Prep games because they are located in Fitchburg. I know there are some people on this board that do the same and have their input on players and I truely enjoy reading people's opinion when they see someone live.

I was with a group of people while watching Dayshon Smith play and we all agreed that he was easily one of the players that stood out. IMO, he is capable of playing at the mid major level and I believe he would thrive under DK's system.

I don't know how he is a a person or as a student but I like his game.
