In case nobody saw it, Matty V. is reporting that Butler is a done deal in 2013 in all sports.

To be clear.....the link I posted was a link I nabbed from Matty's blog that is an ESPN story...... |

I missed that ODU 2 CUSA thing. This is nutz! My head is spinning from all this stuff. This is awesome!
And Georgia State going to Sun Belt!
So the CAA looks like it is going to be toasted!!
Why is there no information from George Mason and VCU yet?? There must be some serious negotiations going on at conference front offices!! _________________ Refuse To Lose!!! |

Yes, but the A-10 shouldn't expand for the sake of getting to a round number. Off the top of my head, I don't see any programs beyond the 3 mentioned that would be worth adding to the A-10 at this point. |

FWIW there is some chatter on the MAC boards that the A-10 is preparing for UMass to exit and go MAC all sports. Based on message boards (which can mean less than nothing) there is a sizable contingent of MAC fans that are not happy with the football only arrangement. They have some compelling arguments for invoking the 2 year option.
On the other hand some people are talking a lot about UMass heading over to the BE to take UConn's spot once they bolt for the ACC or greener pastures.
Any way you look at it there are still a lot of shoes to drop in the next couple years with realignment. (BTW I realize this is the hoops board but in the context of the conversation I think football and it's implications could have a big impact on where UMass is playing hoops in 4 years) _________________ UConn girls are........................... | I would be shocked (and very disappointed) if UMass basketball went to the MAC. On the other hand, going to the Big East seems like a logical step a few years down the road (3+). |

| I'm going to shut this one down and ask everyone to move it all over to the other thread about A-10 realignment. |
