Notre Dame losing to St. John's, 8-3 in the 4th quarter. That could help our seeding.
Looks like the top 2 seeds will get easier games in the first round, against Sienna or Stony Brook. After that, it seems like a step up in difficutly, as the three seed will host a Princeton, Colgate, Cornell, Lehigh, Denver, etc.
If Notre Dame loses.....the door opens for Syracuse to sneak in by winning the Big East Tournament..... |

Need to root against Detroit in the MAAC tournament. If the Titans get in, they likely will be sent to Notre Dame.
But ND losing improves UMass' chances of getting a higher seed.
And congrats to former UMass assistant Jason Miller for leading St. John's into the BE final. _________________ I wrote this ... it's gotta be true.

I think a top 2 seed would be great. If we win Saturday, and Loyola beats Fairfield for the ECAC title, it's between us and Duke for that 2 seed....which could be the difference between playing a MAAC team and playing an Ivy or a Colgate.
I'd have no issue being seeded behind Loyola, they would have only the one loss to Hopkins and a couple better wins. |

Thing is, geography still will have a lot to say with how the first-round matchups happen -- no seeds below the top eight. With the probably of Siena and Stony Brook grabbing autobids, I don't see any way they don't send one of those teams to Amherst.
Villanova winning the BE would make it a lot easier to send the 'Cats to either Loyola or Duke (or even Hopkins). _________________ I wrote this ... it's gotta be true. |

So that works in our favor, correct? Siena or Stony Brook would likely come even if we get a 3 or 4?
That beats hosting an Ivy team, or a Colgate/Fairfield. |

Syracuse winning could be a problem, unless Colgate beats Maryland and ends up hosting a game. _________________ I wrote this ... it's gotta be true. |

| How would Cues be a problem? They wouldn't get a home game....do you mean they'd send them to Amherst? |

They would be in the mix. Depends on where UMass will be seeded, as well. Having another Northeast team on the road in Round 1 is a wrinkle -- although the difference in the distance from 'Cuse to Amherst and Baltimore is only about an hour by bus. _________________ I wrote this ... it's gotta be true. |

| Seems like all we know for certain is that the committee will do whatever the hell they want without much regard for fairness or common sense. |

There starting to come out in the Laxpower poll thread over at their forum. Some Doug guy calling UMass fans classless. _________________ If only I could be as great a fan as Pierce9999.... |
