Rated pretty well. His scouting profile sounds like he'd fit right in with our new found offensive philosophy. A St. Raymond's guy.

| Haha, we've been listed as involved with him for over a year on ESPN, but yeah, I suppose that tweet isn't super newsworthy... |

Along with his high-major interest, 2013 NJ Playaz (NJ) PG Shane Rector recently picked up an offer from UMass.
Looks like with Sledge out of the picture, we're now targeting those 2013 PG's to apprentice under Chaz during Chaz's senior season. Essential that we get a good one for '13! |

| a clip from NBEbasketball.com after a tournament last weekend "Rector still holds the same offers from Dayton, Hofstra, Columbia, Duquesne, and Umass that he had when I last spoke to him in January. He is receiving high major interest from Notre Dame, Stanford, Georgetown, and Cincinnati, all schools planning to track Rector on this summer’s Nike EYBL circuit" |

Jon Rothstein @JonRothstein
St. Raymond's PG Shane Rector has been invited to Deron Williams Skills Academy. Will visit Umass in June. Tons of high majors calling.

Great news that he's visiting in June! Maybe we can get him to commit, like Jordan Laguerre, the summer before the high majors get seriously involved. |

UMass very involved in Rector's recruitment- this article mentions when his visit to UMass will be, where he has been already, as well as who is recruiting him the hardest, and when he wants to make a decision by.
This is the one PG recruit from the 2013 class that we seemed to be in on early, but is now getting a lot of high major attention. The good news is that we're very much on his radar and it seems we have a lot of things that would be attractive to a young point guard once we get him on campus.
Fingers crossed. Someone like Rector, with a wing like Santee, and an athletic "big" would make a heckuva '13 class. |

A recap of a tournament with numerous high major players. Nice write up on Rector who this writer deemed the top performer in the tournament final that featured many top players. High praise, indeed. Hopefully with the unlimited text and call period starting now, and with his visit this week- we can make a big time impression. |

Matty V article that touches on Rector's visit. Sounds like it's between UMass, Xavier, Pitt, Arizona, Iowa State and Stanford (which he visited first). |
