The best thing about my not being able to make the trip west for the lax disaster yesterday was that I could watch live Kyllie hit the walk-off. It happened shortly after lax ended.

Going to Missouri. Play DePaul first who beat us earlier in the year.

No northern teams are hosting regionals this year. It's all southern and west coast teams. They used to hold one regional up here, but I guess that was too much to ask. Need to let every single SEC and Pac-12 team host instead.

I saw this in the Gazette Sat. this is huge since Plourde is a senior and we
only have 2 pitchers on the roster and none coming in this year until now.

0-0 after 2.

Haven't watched any softball before this, but did not know that Plourde will play for team USA after UMass. Great to hear, good for her.

DePaul breaks up the no-hitter with 3 runs on 3 hits on the bottom of the 6th, and holds UMass scoreless in the 7th.

3-0 DePaul. Final score.

Tough one. When was the last time the ladies made a super regional? Is the A10 just weak or have we just had a run of bad luck in the tourney? Seems with arguably the most dominant pitcher around, we should be able to take a game or two in the big dance, no? I don't mean to be critical; just inquiring.

Can't win if you can't score. They were better at manufacturing runs this season than last, but still nowhere near the preceding years IMO.

Also, we just went undefeated in conference play in three spring sports, but winless in postseason, unless you count squeaking out the playin game in women's lax over much lower rated Canisius. Our conference partners aren't helping us raise our game.

Made the Super Regional in 2006 ... losing at Northwestern. Just three years ago, were probably a game-saving catch at the fence away from knocking off Washington and lost that 15-inning thriller. Washington ended up winning the national title.
