Anyone hear any news on who we will be playing out of conference next season? I know we will be at North Carolina. Interesting to see what the future schedule looks like!

I haven't heard anything yet, but my expectation would be a schedule very similar to this years with the game at UNC replacing the Ohio State game.

From Matty V's article (link below - middle of article) which first mentioned the UNC game, Coach Canella talks about the cost of the trip to Ohio State and how the funds come from the "alumni account" rather than the operating budget. I would think UNC will be next years "big trip" as I would guess we can't afford two trips like that. Therefore, unless we could add a strong team within bus range (and those options are limited factoring in distance and teams which would be willing to play us), I'm guessing the schedule will not look very different.

We are going to have to hope some of our conference mates are a bit better and coupled with the game at UNC, hope that will boost our SOS.

Could be wrong and maybe Coach has some surprises for us - but historically, year to year, the schedule has not changed much.

A longer run in the NCAA Tournament this year could have helped toward that cost.... *sigh*

Princeton, Syracuse, the greater Baltimore area are all drives. The problem is getting the prima donnas to agree to play. They don't need to schedule another tough opponent and would rather schedule a probable win. See UConn hoops OOC.

Question regarding the 5 remaining Big East Teams: Georgetown, Providence, Rutgers, St. John's and Villanova compare the CAA in strength: Lateral, weaker, stronger? Seems that St John's is about the same as Hofstra. Providence, UConn, Rutgers are all much closer and Nova the same as St Joes.

In my mind, Big East will have 1 bid only in the future. Losing 'Cuse and N.D. ('14) are major.

Not sure how long it's been there, but the 2013 sked is on the official site. OC was pretty much spot on (see above), except we're AT Lehigh on 3-19 and the UNC game is at a neutral site (Atlanta). Just 5 games in Amherst.

Also just checked the roster ... 17 true and redshirt freshmen and just 8 seniors. But it's an excellent core, and hopefully guys like Whiteway, Izzo, Mooney and others can step up and improve on the flashes of promise they showed last season.

The game at Lehigh on March 19 will be shown on ESPNU.

Johns Hopkins must not be practicing that night.

(And defending national champ Loyola is being shown only twice -- once against Hopkins, of course. Rolling Eyes )

My son and I are headed to the Harvard game. He's very excited that I put it in the calendar on my phone.
