My vote goes to Baseball. Just the history of playing every summer day as a kid, dreaming of the day I make it to the Majors. But then relegated to the County softball diamonds just about the time I should have been getting called up from AAA.

Just a fun game to watch. You can get as involved or uninvolved as you want in strategies, second guessing, etc. There is the timelessness (sometimes a bad thing) to each game (it ain't over til the final out). And few events beat out an exciting (or nerve-wracking) late-inning rally. And I think the World Series is still the premier championship event (just start the games a little earlier, please).

basketball for me... I grew up playing it, my room at home during middle/high school was a shire to michael jordan, Larry Bird is a God in my book, and I want to coach the game some day..... I love the Celtics, but I dislike the NBA big time now-a-days... college ball is the way to go right now

I love baseball, football, hockey, running and so many other sports, but b-ball will always hold a special place in my heart... it is my sport... I connect with it, ya know?

I went w/ football...it might also be interesting to do a poll (if one hadn't been done- I didn't ck) of, or including, college vs. NBA basketball.

I've been following it the longest, I've read the most about it and those years as a Sunday season ticket holder following my favorite team have given me memories to last a lifetime!!

Gotta say I'm split between football & baseball. Baseball IS summer, & a night at Fenway watching the sox (& the other nice sights) with a cold beer is pretty entertaining. But I have to admit, my Sundays are planned around the Pats games, & when they're playing like they have the past few years, great entertainment. Can I have two choices?

The networks won't show soccer unless they can show a lot of commercials. Companies won't shell out the big bucks to have their corporate logo displayed in the corner of the screen. I'm not anti-soccer; I hope the sport does take a strong hold in the US. It's just not realistic to expect these big networks to treat soccer like football (no pun intended).
