That’s great to hear his name under consideration.

Quick is currently 7th in the NHL in GAA and 9th in Save %. Of course the top goalie statistically in the league right now is also a rookie, Columbus’ Steve Mason.

Unless Mason's injuries become much worse I see him being 1st team rookie goalie with Quick second. His play has been outstanding and his junior hockey credentials basically sew up the votes from Canada.

Unless there's an injury you're looking at Buffalo's Ryan Miller and Tim Thomas of the Bruins as locks between the pipes for Team USA. Quick will be fighting with Craig Anderson of Florida, Ty Conklin of Detroit, and my new favorite goaltender of all time Scotty Clemmensen Wink of New Jersey for the final roster spot.

INCH has Quick as the last out for the Olympics in terms of goaltenders, but their criteria is a "what if" of ex-college players only. Hockey East dominates between the pipes:

Quick makes the USA Hockey training camp roster! Tim Thomas and Ryan Miller are the other two goalies.

Although the picture shows him getting beat this sight is pretty cool:

Quick being introduced to the crowd of of onlookers at the camp taking place outside of Chicago.

A good look at the new Team USA uniforms which were mandated to be changed by the IOC to eliminate the official organization emblims.

^^^^^^^

Having a player of this caliber from the UMass program has to be a nice help in recruiting, correct?
