| I must say I am quite disappointed in the push for Holmes from UMass Sports Information Dept. He is the clear on fav to win the award but some press and help wouldnt hurt. |

according to who? there are other talented players, i'm sure if you saw them play you'd agree. but i'd say Holmes being in the top 5 is a safe bet... |

I'd have to agree, this guy needs some press!! I watch him play and he has Buchhanan winner written all over him with the plays he's made throughout the yr. I'd hate to see where this team would be without him. I've watched atleast the finalists from the CAA teams play atleasdt a few times, whether against UMass or on TV and I haven't seen anyone better than Holmes. Obviously there a some players throughout the country which I haven't seen, but if there is one having a better season than Tyler I'd love to watch him play because it must be quite the show. _________________ Any team, any time, any place |

Holmes finished 5th in the Buchanan voting. He'll get another chance next year.
Story here. |

You are upset because a junior whose team didn't make the playoffs finished behind four guys (including last year's runner-up) whose teams did?
I know nothing about the four top guys and I doubt hardly anyone here does.
Congrats to Tyler for making the finals! _________________ "Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here." |

| Making the playoffs has nothing to do with the top D player. Hell the UNH kid who was ahead of him wasnt even first team CAA. The winner had what 15 more total tackles but less in everything else. Its fine he didnt win but 5th? when he was picked by other outlets is kinda strange to me. |

It's a national vote. Not making the playoffs probably hurt in terms of exposure. Matt Evans got mentions on the FCS Playoff telecasts and made a few decent plays.
If some LB from a good conference like the Big Sky but a non-playoff team like Portland State was a finalist for this award, there's about a 95% chance that nobody voting on the east coast would have seen him play even once this year. The playoffs are mostly the only time the power conferences play each other. |
