| xlgman- Thanks, I missed that. Boy, it is complicated but it's nice to see Lari is so into the A10. I guess the bottom line is just win some games and we won't have to worry about the tie breakers to get into the tourny. |

And it wouldn't even be that far fetched if we came out with the 8th seed.
Seven games left. Far too early to put much stock in what the standings say. _________________ http://basketballumass.blogspot.com/ |

I think if we win more than 4 games and the top teams take care of business, we could get an 8 seed. Let the pigs fly.
I think if we can win 4 of our last 7, we should be looking at a 9 or 10 seed. Highly unlikely.
I think 3 wins might let us limp in ahead of St Joe's or LaSalle but I do not think we'd catching GW, Bona, or Duquesne. Slim chance.
I think 2 wins or less and we're done. This seems like the most likely scenario unfortunately.
It's actually going to be more important for us to beat the lower teams that we're trying to catch than it is to beat Dayton or St Louis or URI. This next stretch of 3 games (Duq, St Joe, GW) will likely make or break our chances at getting to the A10 tourney. |

| Correct me if I am wrong, but if we were somehow able to get the 8th seed, we'd be hosting a game, right? |

| ^ Yes - an 8th seed gets us a home game. I do not think the Mullins booking agent is holding the date though. |

Playoffs?! Playoffs?!?! We're just trying to win a game!
OK, so back to standings. But first, our remaining schedule:
2/11 at Duq
2/14 vs Saint Joe
2/17 at GW
2/21 at StL
2/27 at Dayton
3/3 vs La Salle
3/6 vs Rhody
These next three could punch or tear up our ticket to the conference tourney.
The log-jam to qualify:
8. Duq 3-6
8. La Salle 3-6
8. Saint Joe 3-6
11. St Bona 2-6
12. GW 2-7
12. UMass 2-7
14. Fordham 0-9
The mid-week games:
2/9: StL at Saint Joe
2/10: Charlotte @ Dayton
2/10: Fordham at Bona
2/10: Richmond at Rhody
2/11: UMass at Duq |

So, if we beat Duquesne (which I am planning on) and St L beats St J (why not? we did it) THEN... we vault into a tie for 8th. In fact, if my wishes become reality, then GW will most likely stand alone at 13th, as St B has Fordham visiting.
Or, to link up with the ad nauseum theme, we're not the only team getting their butts kicked by the top half of the league. _________________ Always remember you are unique, just like everyone else. |

We could 5-2 or we could go 0-7. I have no idea which direction we'll take. I think we should, realistically, expect to win 2, hope for 3 or 4. _________________ WUSTL Hoops: 4 NCAA's, 3 final fours, 2 national titles 103-17 in four years. D3 Dynasty indeed. |
