| Yes, hopefully the school is committed to him, but there have been a lot of black eyes for that program in a short period of time. Realistically they won't be a contender for a while if ever. |

Zoinks:
All the recent shakeups "leaves the Tigers with five returning scholarship players, counting Johnson, and five signees."
Tony and staff might be the busiest in America right now, trying to fill up the roster. |

Tony and the Tigers just wrapped up the season at 9-23. He got a "letter of support" from the AD yesterday.

But anytime you need such a letter means you're on the hot seat. |

Has Tony just had bad luck losing so many players? Haven't followed their season at all. _________________ There ain't no days off. That's the only way you can get it. SUCCESS DON'T COME EASY!@big_booge5 |

Other than the pay (which is obviously a big deal), Auburn is a graveyard for hoops coaches. Totally plays second fiddle to football (maybe third fiddle to football and baseball). It's a football school in remote Alabama. Just a tough place to recruit to. Football money is flowing and so they can pay people to coach there, but other than that, it's not a good gig. Tony took the money and I can't blame him, but if he doesn't win next year, he'll be another in an an expanding line of ex-Cal guys who flamed out as head coaches. In truth, DK is looking like he's probably Cal's best disciple. Bayno was great but had other issues at UNLV. Bruiser is a perpetually solid, but not spectacular head coach who isn't in a great situation in terms of institutional support. Barbee was solid at UTEP but could be gone at Auburn. Robic is an unreal x's and o's guy who sucked as a head coach. Chuck Martin just got the axe at Marist. Who am I missing? _________________ Muck Fax Page |

If that's true about Robic, I wonder if we could get him back here as an assistant. _________________ Always remember that you are unique, just like everyone else. |
