Ricky is still second in the league in scoring.
Are we a better team without CLowe? I doubt it.
Will we be a better team with Gurley? Maybe.
Will be be a better team without Ricky? NO WAY!!!! _________________ Always remember you are unique, just like everyone else. |

I hope the rest of our team steps up next year. If not, next year will be worse than this year without ricky. Ricky has been keeping us in games lately. _________________ Make your free throws and grab the rebounds |

| I can see next year being very good if The Fox Freddie Riley, JYD Javorn Farrell and TV Vinson all blossom at the same time. The bar I set for this years incarnation of the Minutemen was 1 win at the A10 tourney...they still have time to exceed that expectation so dont abandon hope just yet. |

| Tim Kenney is giving the players these nicknames on the broadcasts. He has really taken a liking to "The Junk Yard Dog" and commented yesterday about how #10 pays attention to every word DK says. Kenney has also started a new feature ala The Phantom Gourmet called "Kenneys Kitchen" where he samples food joints on the road. When I saw him at The Hangar after the 49ers game he was telling us about how he sampled 5 cheesesteaks in Philly to determine the best. Yesterday I guess the team spent Friday night in Newport RI but Kenney didnt go down until Saturday so he had no review but said he liked the sandwiches the Priest he rode down from Amherst with made. |

| Ricky is solid and will be missed no doubt. He has played out of position and hurt and that should be respected. It is unfortunate that he will never make a tourney at his time here, but he will go down as one of the better players here. He could of left when TF left to go elsewhere, but he did not. |

Next year we'll only lose 1 player (Ricky) instead of 6 (Lowe, Bonner, Gaffney, Lynch, Glass, Wilcher)
Next year we'll only have 4 new eligible players (Esho, Traynham, Morgan, Putney) instead of 8 (Riley, Farrell, Sampson, Vinson, Sean, City, Lang, Hill)
Next year we'll have 9 players (Gurley, Gibbs, Riley, Farrell, Sampson, Vinson, Sean, City, Correia) we can reasonably hope will improve significantly year over year. This year we only had 4 (Harris, Gurley, Gibbs, Correia).
Basically, we'll be more experienced and more established within DK's systems and with each other. It should help continuity, chemistry, conditioning, skill level, learning curve, depth, etc.
Losing Ricky is not good but we have seen every year that if every player steps up a little bit, it can more than make up for one or two significant player departures.
I'm actually not worried about the roster too much next year. I'd love to have another big body come in and help out Sean and City and there are other things that are big question marks. But overall, we should be able to put a pretty competitive team out there every night.
The big concern for me right now is whether the coaching staff can start to get the most out of the players we will have. I do not think they are doing so now. |

| Losing Ricky next year will hurt but I would not assume that the team will be worse for the loss. I would wholeheartedly agree that next year's team would probably be better with Harris than without but I will be very disappointed if next year's team is not better than this year's team. |

I don't comment very often on this board, but my thoughts on the state of UMass basketball require me to say it is asad situation. The players aren't very good and the coach is less than adequate.
I don't see any improvement in the future. |
