Wow . . . NINE ONE goal losses! They've had more heartbreakers than Tom Petty!

The one thing Toot said at the luncheon this past Wed. is people have been asking him about the lack of success on the power play. His answer was that at the start of the season he had what he thought would be a real good power play lineup. However I think he said that that group of players have rarely played together because someone was injured and replaced by a less experienced player. LeCompte one of the better players he was depending on has only played in four games and parts of two others. He is shut down for the season. Hopefully the freshmen have gotten a lot of playing experience.

Must be time for hockey players signing their LOI. Toot said something about getting verbals from several players including a top flight goalie who has great stats and another player that stands about 6-7 and weighs in the upper 200's. Also mentioned a couple more prospect he expects to bring in.

I like Michael, but frankly his presence would have made very little difference. Toot has to get off this 90% of the team needs to be quick thing and supposedly he is bringing in a lot size/toughness to go with the finesse. We'll see. We're right back to 2001-2002 basically except we have a goaltender that is giving us a chance to be a first round sacrificial lamb.

How many recruits is he planning on bringing in again next year. So far it looks like 6 or 7 listed and we are talking more? Personally I think we are carrying way to many on the roster. 8 healthy scratches a night is not going to make for a good room. We do need to add size and grit to the lineup hopefully some of the freshmen will hit the weight room hard in the offseason and come back a lot stronger.

Gee game tonight and no one is posting anything about it. I wonder how much the weather will affect the attendance. Some stuff in the Berkshires have been canceled for tonight.

According to pregame show no boyle or teglia tonight.
Steve Mastalerz in net. Puzzling move to say the least.
Why the need to mix things up?

sound like their expecting a decent crowd maybe 5000+
alot of youth groups and teams there according to the pregame

At the luncheon this week Toot said that no one is a lock on the goal tending
position. The one who did the best in practice would be the one who gets the start. Of course someone could be sick also.

Mastalerz outstanding in the first period. UMass fortunate to come out of that period at 0-0, as BC dominated.

2-0 middle of the second Period. Peter Deangelo with our first shorthanded goal since February, 2010.
