Rocks, via FB and Fear the Triangle, is passing on a report from the Eagle Tribune that UMASS will take part in a double header at Fenway in January!
Still some confusion about who we'll play, but it looks like UVM or Maine. _________________ Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades |

I actually think he makes a pretty good point. A one day event is a bit much, but over 2 days, with BC/BU capping one night and UMASS/whoever capping the 2nd night would be great! _________________ Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades |

I love Fenway for baseball, but it is frankly a very uncomfortable park to sit in. And the older I get the more that aspect of going to the park bothers me. But I love being able to sit in a park that still looks much the same as it did when I went with my Dad and Mom as a kid.
But it will be a cold day in hell before I watch a hockey game at Fenway! Cold, uncomfortable seats, bad sight lines. No thanks. Someone I know who went said they couldn't even really see the game. If it's included in the season package I'll be putting them up for sale. Pond hockey was/is for participants, not spectators. |

I'll be there. Not because I think it'll be beautiful weather, for an awesome view of the game, or because seating is spacious and comfortable.
I'll be going because UMASS HOCKEY IS PLAYING AT FENWAY. How that isn't enough for some people is beyond me, but hey, to each their own. |

Agreed as well. It's an opportunity for UMass that may or may not be continued. I've watched hockey games in unheated rinks. People can suck it up for two hours. |

I will likely go, but it is not the two hours plus in the cold I mind. Many people who went to Fenway to see the Bruins play said they could barely see the game. Still, it is an event -- a must-attend event. _________________ If only I could be as great a fan as Pierce9999.... |

| I wonder if the rink will be placed closer to home plate (perhaps running up one of the baselines) versus the cross-infield (3B to 1B) set-up for the Winter Classic and BC-BU. I doubt the far RF and bleacher seats will sell the 38K well that the Winter Classic and BU-BC did on the 1st time around. |

What could be better?
That said I hope they sell out. I'm all for anything that promotes UMASS athletics. Give the people what they want. But not me this time. |

| Worst case scenario, I'll watch it on the monstrous HD board in center field. Can't wait to buy tickets! |
