I too love it, but it also shows what creampuffs the big powers schedule. I guess they can do it; it's not like college basketball, where even a power school can get penalized for a weak OOC schedule at selection time. This won't change until there's a college football playoff, and maybe even then it won't change.

Ummm, has anyone noticed that we play Bowling Green on October 20th and the Revolution play Chicago on the same day...

I saw that. Should not be a problem since the Revs game is at 7:30pm. My guess is that our game will probably be at noon and the parking lot should be clear just in time for them to open it up for the Revs.

That is what I was thinking. I guess the Revs just have to hope we don't go into overtime Very Happy

As I alluded to earlier as far as field marking, it works the same for the Revs. They usually try to blur out the football lines for the soccer games, but obviously that won't be possible here.

mls soccer at gillette is just the worst. if there's one mls team that desperately needs a soccer-specific stadium, it's the revs.

Yea, I thought they were doing something in Somerville, but I haven't really kept up with it.

^ That stadium dying set off a chain reaction which set UMass on it's FBS course.

Northeastern football was going to share it with the Revs. But it died. Northeastern quit. Hofstra quit. Rhode Island downgraded. The once awesome CAA North died.

I personally think if Northeastern didn't quit, neither would Hofstra, and neither would Rhode Island, and then UMass wouldn't have needed to upgrade.

And as a result you get to play NIU in beautiful windswept DeKalb, IL. So it's all good. Very Happy

I've never even heard of DeKalb, but I can guarantee that your stadium is a vast upgrade from the pathetic excuse of a community park Northeastern Football use to call home.

I live in Brookline, and every once in a while walk by Parsons Field. They have an Atlantic 10 Football banner hanging up in a window of one of the sheds on the first base line (before the locker rooms). I'm tempted to stop by when someone's there and ask if I can have it, for old-time's sake. They sure don't deserve it, killing the conference and then killing their program a few seasons later.

I assume as far as a destination for fans of other schools, we are one of the better destinations (especially MAC schools) I would assume. This may help our attendance numbers as well.
Boston, er even Foxborough, in the fall versus Ypsilanti, Muncie, Buffalo, etc. Yeah, minor advantage especially for BCS schools with large northeastern alumni bases.

Just reminding you all of this. Laughing

Good job, Bubba! None of us had even heard of Notre Dame before Molnar, so no else was even able to connect the dots to a possible game. Wink
