Also really like the black helmet look. I've been thinking about this, and I really wonder why there is reluctance to use a logo other than the "UMass" word logo. eg, why not the "UM" logo or just the "M". Much more natural fit for a helmet. It would be interesting to hear the logic from the powers that be.

Thanks fellas... we've been enjoying the hell out of doing it. Once I finish studying for this godforesaken test next week, I'll have more time to dedicate to the site.

Per the logo: A few weeks ago I went to the Braintree mall and picked up a new UMass hat. The one I got had the "UM" in white and the hat itself is black. I was kind of hoping that would be the scheme for the helmets.

I can confirm they were looking into new logos, but they must not have felt that any of the proposed ideas were better than the existing UMass logo.

I like the black color scheme. Going to look different in person, but the mock-ups are still cool.

I like the new uniforms. I have always been a fan of the Texas Tech uniforms and they remind me a lot of those.

So I've been thinking for awhile about an intro. song for us. It seems like most - if not every - FBS team has one. Virginia Tech uses Enter Sandman for example.

Since we're supposedly wearing all black this season, I think we should come out to Paint It Black by the Stones. After some quick research, I couldn't find another college team that uses it. The first two lines fit perfectly:

"I see a red [close enough to maroon] door and I want it painted black. No colors anymore I want them to turn black."

I would also suggest back in black from ac/dc or U Mass by the pixies.

I like the State of Mass instrumental as theme music to be used at some point in the game, but it's college football and we've got a big ass band that's gonna cost us some money to bus over. They're going to play the intro and supply most of the music. And I don't think they have a banjo. Though a lineup of banjos doing that lick would be an interesting aural event.
