I believe that Matt also holds the record for the highest save percentage (100%) of any goalie in our hockey history.
Edit - Just looked it up: one game played, four minutes, one shot on goal, one save. Perfection. _________________ "Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here." |

That will work out well for all those hockey games they play in Fenway now! |

He will most likely play for the Spinners where his dad is a coach. _________________ "....I want to see our program be the UMass I know and love." - DK |

Gedman got promoted to the Red Sox short-season A affiliate, Lowell Spinners! His "new" hitting coach is his dad, former great catcher for the Red Sox, Rich Gedman.
The Red Sox trades this weekend probably precipitated this move, but he was batting respectable .282 against GCL.
He played three games with the Spinners so far, all on the road. He is off to a slow start, one for 13, but the Spinners are coming home to start a 5-game homestand today, so hopefully he picks up where he left off at GCL. I will be at the game tonight, so if you see a guy in a UMass hockey jersey, come say hello.
On a side note, LeLacheur Park in Lowell is really nice. If you live within driving distance, and a fan of baseball, it's definitely worth checking out. Tickets are extremely cheap (I think they start at $6), parking is also cheap (UML garage next to the ballpark is only $5), there is Lowell Beer Works within walking distance, they have great promotions (like bobbleheads), concessions are reasonable, and they are very family-oriented. Highly recommend. _________________ "When in doubt, use brute force." -- Ken Thompson |

The finish of the baystate marathon is in that park, I believe. Seemed pretty nice when I was there, though I was kinda in a daze. |
