Excellent! IU isn't a top tier opponent but a 1:1 is great. Too bad we have to wait 18,000 years |

| According to that article it looks like the return game in Bloomington will be 2017 since it says the H & H begins in 2012 and finishes in 2017 and there are no games with us listed on the scheds for 2013 and 2014. |

| That's a good deal considering the small amount of time we had to work with. That was our hardest date to fill. |

Awesome news. That is exciting.
And I think we have some solid verbals lined up for the 20010 and 20011 classes, so we should have a strong team in place for that game. |

[quote="Sam Minuteman"]Not sure if this is the main board but the IU fans are not happy about visiting UMass next year.
Just think how unhappy they'll be when we kick their ass!! _________________ 'Fight On' You Loyal Sons and Daughters of Metawampe. |

Indiana just received a commitment from the #1 rated high school QB in the country. Maybe they'll play him as a freshmen and we'll get to face him at Gillette.

Great job by the athletic dept!
Question:how is this game going to count for Indiana's bowl eligibility? Will it be considered a game againt an FBS or an FCS opponent? I know UMass will still be in transition to FBS/MAC at that time... _________________ "When in doubt, use brute force." -- Ken Thompson |

Indiana has played in 1 bowl game since 1994 and just 9 in their history. I'm not sure it matters.
Still, getting a Big 10 team to open up the FBS era is a great get by the athletic department. _________________ UMass Hockey Blog:

I like this paragraph from the first article:
"The Hoosiers have also added some high caliber out-of-state opponents on future schedules. In addition to completing a home-and-home series vs. Virginia in 2011, IU begins home-and-home series with North Texas in 2011, finishing in 2014; Navy in 2012, finishing in 2013; UMass in 2012, finishing in 2017; and Missouri of the Big 12 in 2013, finishing in 2014. Indiana will play home and home series with Wake Forest and South Florida in 2015 and 2016, respectively"
Maybe we are "some high caliber out-of-state opponents" to garner home and home games.
Solid job by the AD. |

I think we have to win a couple FBS games before we get that far. |

| UMass counts as a FBS opponent in 2012. We're just not bowl-eligible ourselves. |
