I think the boys keep it close in our FBS debut, but ultimately fall. God I hope i'm wrong, pulling off the upset would be an unbelievable momentum builder for home game #1.

| Haven't looked into UConn too much, but considering it is our first year and UConns track record in the last 5 years, I don't think we will take this one. I hope I'm wrong. Playing one close in week 1 would go a long way in building confidence |

UCONN 35, UMASS 21. I think it will be 28-21 late in the game but UCONN will punch another one in at the end to seal it.
I want to win this game badly, but I am being as realistic about this season as possible. _________________ Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades |

Well 99% of UConn plan on slughtering us, here is one interesting post.
| Quote: | | UConn offense - until proven otherwise, starting on Aug 30th - was 1) inept, 2) low octane, 3) completely one-dimensional ("McCombs for a two yard gain on his 45th carry of the ballgame"), 4) a liability to be overcome for the defense or 5) all of the above. Hopefully that changes this season. Hopefully Whitmer will be an infusion of a passing game. But . . . let's not overlook UMass. |

UMass' #1 quarterback and #2 tight end are both out and they have no proven running backs or wide receivers.
UConn - 31
UMass - 6 |

| All I ask is that the good guys don't get blown out. I also would like to see a 60-minute effort from the UMass players. |

Our D-Line is said to be a strength and that could help limit the UConn running game a bit. The longer we can keep this game interesting, the better a chance we have to keep it close or even pull off a shocker. If UConn has a couple big plays early, it could be a long, long evening. I could see us losing 38-10, but I could also see us putting a real scare in them and falling 24-14. I'll go with something in the middle. UConn 34 UMass 17. Here's to hoping I'm wrong. _________________ Muck Fax Page |

The latter's not a good combo for an inexperienced QB. |

| Hoping all the dire predictions are wrong, but if they do get blown out 38-10 no one's going to be shocked. I'm just going to the game to enjoy the atmosphere, cheer them on on and hope for the best. I also agree that seeing a 60 minute solid effort will be something to watch for. Last year's BC game hit me with a dose of reality as to the difference between FBS and FCS, and we all know that we're not that far removed from FCS. |

I have been in a fantastic mood all day! Since the game is less than a week away I was able to skip to Thursday on my guide and found the game will be broadcast on Bright House Sports Network locally in Tampa!!! Couldn't be happier!!!!
Can't wait to see all the Minutefans on TV celebrating the first game as an FBS school!
Mrs. Minuteman was less than excited, apparently I already watch too much sports on TV..... _________________ UConn girls are........................... Huskies!! |

Given the question marks on offense for both teams, I say 13-3 UCONN - sorry. _________________ Feeling entitled is JUST a feeling... |
