Despite Gottlieb being a punk and my distaste for some of our friends around the A-10, I hope they all do well. The better they do, the better we look reflectively. And with some schollys still open for next year, anything that makes us look good is something I am in favor of.

Actually, got a scholly open for this year. Like right now.

League post-season summary:

4 in the NCAA:
5 seed Temple
9 St. Louis
10 Xavier
14 Bona

4 in the NIT
2 Dayton
2 Saint Joe
3 La Salle
5 UMass

No representation in those fringe tournaments (CBI, CIT), which isn't necessarily a bad thing for an A-10 school. Part of me thinks we should be better than those also rans, especially when you see some of the field in those.

Back to the NCAAs: I think Bona at a 14 is a wee-bit disrespectful. 14s are usually for really good teams in weak conferences, and A-10 is high-mid-major. I'd rather see them as a 13 than a 14.

Rough Night for Dayton... get a 2 seed and still have to play on the road because your home court is being used?

And they get their butts kicked. Pathetic. (I know, someone's gonna post that Iowa isn't really too bad. I certainly have no idea.)

I don't get why that game wasn't played in Cinci, which is only about an hour away from Dayton.

dayton fans said the ncaa wouldn't allow it. probably because a good portion of tonight's crowd at the first 4 wouldn't have gone if there was a ud game an hour away.

All the other A-10 teams in the NIT lost. Dayton is understandable even though they were the higher seed they had to play at Iowa which watching Big 10 bball is a tough place to play. That doesn't bode well for next year. Even though I am not a fan of Temple and Xavier i hope they do well in the tourney. I just don't see the Bonnies or Bilkens advancing.

GO UMASS!!!!
