My girlfriend and I are considering a trip to Nashville TN for our game against Vandy there on October 27th (yes, we are planning way ahead). We will probably spend about 5 days exploring the area (and eating lotsa BBQ )
I am wondering if anyone here travels there regularly and can offer any tips on when to start look for flights. We'll likely be flying out to Boston... _________________ "When in doubt, use brute force." -- Ken Thompson |

| Your best bet is American, which has several connections from Boston to Nashville through Chicago. But I would start looking now . . . the cheapest roundtrips I saw on Expedia for Friday-Sunday are $379. You could probably get something cheaper if you leave Thursday and return Monday. |

Really cool city, especially if you can get interested in the honky tonk stuff. Lotsa good bars and restaurants, and the Vandy campus/area is beautiful even if the football stadium is not. Not as good BBQ as other cities, unfortunately. I'm thinkin about making that trip as well. _________________

I have made hotel reservations at a Courtyard that I can cancel right up to the day. _________________ "Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here." |

There are lots of good places to have a little UMass get together before that game, except for some bar right near Vandy that I randomly had to watch the 2006 lax championship game at, and some place called Bailey's across town that a fellow UMasser and I had lunch at on our way to Chattanooga...both of those places are cursed. _________________

Yep, like we're going to beat a decent SEC team in their house . . . .
But I understand your point. |
