That post is probably better put into General Discussion, because it has nothing to do with UMass. But I can see the tangent because we talk about tweeting, and we already have this thread, so here it stays.

I wonder what the specifics of the Michigan case are. That ESPN write-up said the kid who was contacted had committed, but was that verbal or Letter Of Intent?

If you ask me, if a kid signs an LOI, tweets like what the Michigan players sent should be okay. Verbal commitments might be in the no-no territory.

I can see the beef about the Notre Dame tweet, because the kid hadn't even visited yet.

Moral of the story: don't contact recruits unless you're really really really sure it's okay.

I put it here because it has to do with tweeting, which our guys do ALOT... Just wanted to make sure it was in a highly trafficed place, and we already had a "tweets" thread in place here, albeit for a different reason.

We talk all the time about as fans being smart with what we do/say in regards to recruits and such, but our players have to be careful as well.

I used to follow most (if not all) of the team and I stopped - it's annoying, not funny, not what I want to read, not even bball related. If they were talking UMass bball at all it'd be worth it

I haven't found it either, even one that's protected. I haven't seen his teammates mention a handle for him in tweets.

He used to have one but never tweeted often and I think he ended up deleting his account.

i have a feeling morgan prefers getting in the gym and shooting to tweeting. hes turning into one of my favorite minutemen of all time. i think hes going to be one of the best shooting guards we've ever had before he's done.

Could have been said in a better way. Chaz is our best player and he seems to enjoy tweeting quite a bit.... do you really think it is hurting his game? I personally don't believe he enjoys tweeting more than he does shooting hoops.
