Looks like we are right on par... I'd like to see where Rutgers is at as well. _________________ Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades |

Ask and you shall receive:
Rutgers:
Chris Laviano QB- ESPN 4 Star/Rivals 3 Star
Myles Nash ATH- ESPN 4 Star/Rivals 3 Star
Justin Goodwin ATH- ESPN & Rivals 3 Star
T.J. Taylor ATH- ESPN 3 Star/Rivals 2 Star
Dontea Ayres RB- ESPN & Rivals 3 Star
Nick Internicola OLB-ESPN & Rivals 3 Star
John Tsimis WR- ESPN 3 Star/Rivals 2 Star
Anthony Cioffi ATH- ESPN & Rivals 3 Star
Nick Arcidiacono TE- ESPN 3 Star/Rivals 2 Star
Taylor Marini TE- ESPN & Rivals 3 Star
Eric Wiafe DE- ESPN 2 Star/Rivals 3 Star
Josh Klecko DT- ESPN NR/Rivals 2 Star
Sebastian Joseph DE-ESPN & Rivals NR
Kemoko Turay DE-ESPN & Rivals NR
By my calculations Rutgers appears to be doing a bit better than the other 4 teams. _________________ UMass Football-2013 MAC Champions!!!!! |

WOW! Great pickup. ESPN has him as a 3 star recruit and the #51 ILB in the country. Here is a great story where he talks about his commitment. Really good stuff, especially the part where his parents really were impressed.

I think this coaching staff has been very aggressive and early on some under the radar kids who may be 2-3 star rated now (after their junior year) but turn out to be 4 star players by the time their senior high school season is done. I wouldn't be shocked at all if we land a 4-star kid THIS year, as a matter of fact I'll bet you a cold beer it happens. _________________ UMass '87 |

Understand the thought process.......but as a new program that doesn't get 4 star players the evaluators will be less likely to upgrade a 2 or 3 to a 4 because of where they are going. They have long term relationships with established schools and won't want to ruffle feathers and cause problems for schools that "lose" 4 star recruits to a new program.
Opt for anything from Wandering Star Craft Brewery in Pittsfield.

The way I envision it I'm thinking it will be one of these kids who we have been on for months that hasn't verbally committed yet. A great senior year and ratings upgrade but since we've been on him for so long we get him come signing day. _________________ UMass '87 |

Or, regional or school-specific subscription-compensated columnists don't upgrade or downgrade prospective recruits' rankings based on their own school or personal interests. In other words, view stars with caution once it gets past 5 stars and some higher rated 4 stars. Football's a bit different than hoops recruiting. |
