From Sam the Minuteman on Facebook:

Victor Cruz will be in attendance at tonight's Men's Basketball Game vs. Xavier at 7pm in the Mullins Center. As the Vizio Top Value Performer, he will be giving away a Vizio 42" HDTV to the winner of a half-time salsa-dance contest. Three lucky students will be selected at the game to participate in the contest. Get there early and BE LOUD! |

Haha I love the salsa contest!
It was my mission for 4 years to get on that stupid court for the half-time 3-shot (lay-up, FT, 3pt) contest. Unfortunately, I realized over time that it was rigged, but at least I "supported" the Athletic department by spending about $100 on game programs that were supposed to be a ticket on to the court. |

Have to say again--did anyone notice, a guy almost won the car on Saturday? He made all three shots, and then his half court shot was in and out. _________________ Always remember that you are unique, just like everyone else. |

Eric "Otto" Schwager... he was a manager for the b-ball team back in the early 2000s. Great kid! There is a video of him taking the shot on his FB page as well. That was fun to watch. _________________ Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades |

So, do you think Eric was "randomly" chosen to play the game, just based on his program sticker? _________________ Always remember that you are unique, just like everyone else. |

Yes, I believe he got the sticker (or whatever) randomly, seeing as he probably knows very few people associated with the department (and probably no one within the program). _________________ Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades |

How could it be rigged? I got a sticker at the St. Louis game (ended up giving it to a kid that really wanted to play) and I'm just a lowly customer who buys a scorecard at every game. Don't know anyone associated with the program. _________________ Any team, any time, any place |
