Six year deal, huh? Where can I lay down some money that says he's gone in four? Sounds like a Travis Ford kinda hire to me. I'm basing this on the fact that he left Wagner after two years. Doesn't that kinda suck?

I dunno, Len. He seemed pretty broken up about leaving Wagner, and is a Northeasterner. Obv we never know for sure about these things but he seems a bit more sincere than Ford.

He didn't have to leave Wagner. He could have stayed a couple more years. There's job openings every year.

Dan Hurley might be the best coach in the A-10 right away...this guy is that good, just saying.

Based on what? His two years of experience? His NCAA tournament success? Come on....maybe he'll be a great hire, but that is an absurd statement to make at this point.

You really don't know anything about Danny Hurley eh? I'm sure you will be quickly aware of all his accomplishments in the near future.

Like I said, could be a great hire. But hs accomplishments hardly make him the best coach in the league right away. Enlighten me.

-Comes from one of the best basketball coaching families, been around the game his entire life
-Including his father, who is a hall of famer, and the best high school basketball coach of all time
-Completely turned around St. Benedict's Prep and made them into a national powerhouse
-Went to a small NEC school in Staten Island, and brought in great recruits including a top 100 recruit who at once committed to Mich. St
-He has the contacts, he's part of coaching history, and he knows the game and understands the players better than any other coach in the A-10
-Has worked with players of all ages, and his brother a former Duke star and could have been an NBA star will be his main assistant

Yes this is an opinion but don't act like its a non coherent thing to say, it makes plenty of sense and I included some factors for you.

I get it. His dad is a great hs coach, his brother could really play, and dan himself had some success coaching in hs. So he knows the game and understands players better than any coach in the a 10. Quite a leap.

scoop, I'm very much aware of all the reasons uri wanted him, and I think its a good hire. But you're going a bit overboard. There are some good, accomplished coaches in the a10, to say Hurley is the best coach in the league before he's coached a game above nec level is comical.
