Then it's a good thing I go out of my way to remind everyone I'm not press.

Somebody is putting in the work to find these people that "aren't supposedly out there":

My point is these aren't first year coaches that did well and got lucky to earn, say, a home ice spot. Their achievements are far beyond that.

Pull a quote from a Northeastern source, and lets see what the press says about Merrimack next year.

I never said there weren't coaches out there, I was suggesting that there are not a lot of GREAT coaches out there and honestly if UMass is going to make the chance it damn well better be an upgrade not a HWSNBN.

Meff, as much as you and I have fun going back and forth, I wasn't directing this at you. This is a thread with now 3 pages that will grow. Qualified candidates seems to be a concern to many and I happened to see these stories back to back so I posted them.

And sorry I'm a little thick, but I have no idea what your Northeastern comment means. If you're referring to Jim Madigan, I've said on here before that hiring a new coach is not a 100% guarantee of success. Compared to the last few season, Madigan did no worse than Cronin with the exception Cronin got his team to the Garden last year. Then was shown the door for violations. A lot of good that is.

Northeastern fans want a new coach already.
