Marty,
Your point is one of my biggest concerns. We failed this year at times due to not being deep enough, but I also think to some extent, losing Samp and Cady was a blessing. It felt like once we played undermanned, the kids FINALLY got the constant burn they needed to get into the swing of things.
Sampson and Cady, IMO, are better than half the guys we were playing at the end of the year, so its great to have them back. That being said, sometimes going 10, 11 deep is a huge curse - leaves guys constantly looking over their shoulder, and makes it tough to get into a set routine.
Balancing the depth we have will be one of DK's greatest challenges. |

3. Put, Javorn
4. TV, Maxie, Sampson
5. Cady, Tyler, McCarthy
Plus we have maybe one more (likely RS), and many of these guys can play multiple positions.
If we thought this team played fast this year, next year may be CRAZY FAST. |
Managing playing time because of too many good players will be a new challenge for DK. We should have the ability to match up against almost anyone we play with a big lineup or a quick lineup. If DK wants to go with 40 minutes of pressing and running we are deep enough to do it. If JL or Trey can spell Chaz for 8-10 minutes a game that would be a bonus as I would like to see Jesse just play the 2 next year. The only concern is Cady's foot. At this point we really don't know what we have for a back-up center. Maxie is much more effective at PF than center. Overall, however, the future looks very promising. |

Hopefully between maxie, tyler, and maybe sampson, we will be able to have a good back up center. From what I have read on twitter sounds like Samp put on a lot of muscle. |

Jordan L. looks a lot like Jesse out there. With everyone returning and Jordan becoming eligible (after being with the team and practicing all year - a huge deal IMO), we'll be scary and deep with guards and wings.
The key will be rebounding and post defense - where we failed miserably last night and in some other losses.
I am optimistic for next year, but can't ignore a pretty concerning potential problem. We lose our best guy from an already deficient area, and replace, currently, with a health question mark and a freshman, while hoping guys like Samp and Maxie can play bigger than they are.
I think we're getting the Freeman kid, but not sure he's a guy that will help right away. Maxie and Samp are keys. We need them to be MONSTERS on the boards next year. |

One thing that i'd like to see incorporated into the offense is more off the ball screening. When we've played teams with good sound defenses (ie. Stanford, Dayton, FSU, and even Richmond to an extent) we struggle to get good looks and open drives. I understand DK's offense is based off iso's, pick and rolls, ball movement and dribble hand offs, but screens NEED to be set against good defensive teams. I think guys like Put, Jesse and even Jordan next year can average 13-18 a game but they can't be consistant in their scoring is they have to really on breaking down their guy everytime. My one complaint about the offense and really this season. Loving everything else. _________________ Any team, any time, any place |

With Cady, Maxie, Put, Sampson & TV we have enough big bodies to do well on the boards. If Cady is healthy all year, I don't see the middle as a weakness and if we can get some decent minutes from Tyler B. to give Cady a breather now & then, we'll be looking good. Cady has the size to play the big centers and everyone else can rebound & get out on the break. Staying healthy is the key, but this team looks deep & talented at every position. Already looking forward to that first game next year _________________ Stay thirsty my friends |

| I agree - I am concerned about Cady staying healthy. If he is, we're looking good. |

Wow, he's going be even better than I thought. And he can finish with both hands, something some of our guys need to get stronger. It was apparent watching last night (and throughout the year) that our offense goes right 90% of the time. Especially Javron, Put and even Chaz and Jesse to an extent. That's what jumped out most to some Stanford fans who I talked with during the 2nd half. _________________ Any team, any time, any place |

Javorn is like Gurley...next time he goes left will be the first. But like Anthony, he actually has a quick enough step that most guys don't stop it anyway. He just needs to finish more consistently.
I love that Jordan is lefty, but seems to have that righty tomahawk as his go-to jam. |

What's impressive is his use of both hands. He shoots jumpers left handed, but takes it to the hole with either hand. Can't wait to see him in action.
Edit: Chris, you beat me to it. Good observation.
