I am not sure whether those Boston College games are set in stone yet, but it would just be amazing if the Eagles got bounced from the ND 2015 schedule for us. _________________ "Wherever I go, I’ll never be bashful about being from UMass, baby.” -Victor Cruz |

What a great "Get" for us. The TV time on NBC alone makes this deal awesome, but also great for recruiting, payout for the school and the exposure.
Really proud of our administration for this one. _________________ UMass Football-2013 MAC Champions!!!!! |

Reading that ND board, I'm not sure what's funnier ... the posters who assume UMass won't be a significantly better program by 2015, or the Domers who still are stuck in 1988 and think college football begins and ends in South Bend, Ind. _________________ I wrote this ... it's gotta be true. |

That is a fun thread to read! I'm going to stir the pot a bit...
Also, some of them seem to think this game might be played at Gillette...
haha this post from that thread is titled: When are tryouts for Penn state football and basketball?
| Quote: | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am graduating high school in june and in the fall i am going to attend penn state university park. I never played high school football or basketball but im very good in both. I actually am starting to train as of tommorow (working on both skill and physical condition)and will continue on through the summer. I was wondering if penn state holds tryouts for either sport and if they do when are they? |

| ^ I can only assume that is u as IV33 stirring the pot there at the end. I like it. Get them worried. I think by year 4 we should be in a good position to challenge ND. Molnar recruited a good group of guys in weeks. Imagine what he can get when he has years to build up rapport with athletes. |

There was an article in this mornings Springfield paper about a possible Notre Dame game but have not found a link to it as of now so I will do a summary of the article.
Per the AD concerning any future opponents - "We haven't made any of them official, that's why we hope to get a release out that has all non-conference games that we've contracted and puts them all in one place and either confirm or counter things that have been floated out there"
Notre Dame has four open dates right now, but Dec. 5 is out since that would be the date of the MAC conference championship. Oct 3, 24 and 31 are open dates on ND's schedule but they have to fit in a BC road game and a Temple home game.
In the same article it mentions that UMass has hired Perkins-Will architects of Boston to design the support facility and other improvements to McGuirk Alumni Stadium. Besides a new press box on the stadium, an approximately 38,000 square foot facility will be built at the north end zone and will feature locker rooms, coaches offices, meeting rooms, sport medicine suite and weight room.
Also The Minutemen will practice in Foxborough at Gillette Stadium on April 21 in conjunction with a youth clinic the team will host that day. Practice will be held at the indoor facility because of an NCAA lacross doubleheader that day at the stadium. |

I wonder if we can watch if the practice is not at the same time as our lax game. That might pose a challenge to our lax tailgate plans. _________________ "Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here." |

| The lax game is at 4 so I would think the practice will be earlier. I can't imagine Coach Molnar wouldn't want to invite us. |

| One of my best friends from home went to ND so I got to take in two BC-ND games in South Bend while I was a UMass undergrad. What an experience. A beautiful campus and unbelievable tailgating experience. This is great, hopefully by 2015, we'll be one of the best teams in the MAC. |

And hopefully by 2015, my wife won't be as mad as she was when she realized that I want to go to South Bend with a couple old UMass friends and no wives. |

Since the practice is being held at the indoor facility, it probably won't be open to the public since it doesn't seem like there's a lot of "extra space" in there for fans to congregate ... from what I remember from popping my head in one time. |
