Mentioning today's news about BC dropping us in hoops now that we are better than them might be used as part of the response.

I'm not going to pretend that BC and UConn's athletic programs don't have long histories and it won't be easy to overtake them, but talk about two pathetic schools. They think they are much better than they really are. Both are now afraid to play us in hoops. Both are heading in a negative direction overall. We have a real opportunity here and we need to step up and take it. Keep promoting UMass football and the school in general!

And I think Coach Molnar has a new quote for those Minuteman signs they have hanging up:

Quote:
BC is always going to be the premier program in the region. They have the history, the talent, and the fanbase that makes UMass's claim a check that is all but impossible to cash.

..funny the bowls referenced by BCI ...I think BC played in a few of those during their now concluded "bowl streak".

Blowhards.

Response sent to Dewey:

Matt Vautour ‏ @GazetteUMass
Just got an email from a UMass fan psyched that BC wouldn't be weighing down the Minutemen's strength of schedule and RPI again

Pretty sure Coach Molnar is etting the goal of being the top team in NE as a goal for the future not this season as the guy who wrote that article seems to think. Ugh I can't stand BC and anyone/thing associated with them. Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad

I place the over/under on BC's combined ACC football and basketball wins for the coming year at 6.

Bob was the one to respond, not me. However, It is absolutely terrific! I spoke to a wealthy and somewhat influential BC Alum/Donor last week. In his opinion Gene D. has done an poor job running the department and people are starting to really question whether or not he is the right guy for the job. As he told me "The only reason our hockey team is so good is because Gene didn't hire the coach".

They are definitely not happy with their coaching situations in both Football and Basketball.

They certainly shouldn't be. I think they have potential with their b-ball coach if he doesn't pull a Ford on them, but Spaz was a terrible hire from the get-go.

And as always, be sure to remind any BC alums you encounter that Jerry York was their second choice behind .... Mike Milbury.
