13-11 with about six minutes to go. 5000 and change was the announced attendance. Sounds pretty rowdy and pro UMass though.

The Gorillas survive, winning 14-13 to move to 12-0. Not pretty but we'll take it. And sorry Mike, I just realized I could have consolidated all of those updates into 1 post.

Really hoping this team makes it to Gillette one more time...

Not pretty, but guys stepped up when it counted.
Looked like another blowout at first (4,-0, 8-3), but give Hofstra credit., They tightened up on D and their goalie was pretty sharp in the 2nd half. Not to knock the kid, but I thought McCormack was a little subpar? This is the first time I have seen the team this season, but from what I have seen in previous years, he has played/is capable of better. Big stop by Goodhue. McCormack had a couple big stops at the end.

And thank you to that out-of-uniform Hofstra player who mouthed off and got an unsportsmanlike penalty when Hofstra would have had a 2 minute EMO. They tossed the kid off the sideline

12-0... can't complain.

Bentley/Merrimack game was good too.

A really dumb unsportsmanlike penalty by the Hofstra guy who went over to the UMass bench. Not only did it cut a 2-minute Hofstra EMO in half, but we got possession and were able to kill it off. That might have cost Hofstra the game. But you need to win games like this and we did. Nobody else in the top 10 seems to be stepping up.

That was one of the most fun and most exciting UMass events in recent years. The UMass fan turnout was greater than I expected. Too bad that there were no busses of students.

Our fourth quarter surge after falling behind 11-10 was encouraging. The several minutes before that were our weakest of the season.

Given the fact that the Bruins were playing in the playoffs, and the Red Sox were playing the Yankees - I would say 5k is a good crowd.

Sorry I missed it, followed on GT via Droid st my son's LAx game.

Entertaining game, great win, and awesome to be able to catch the end of the Section U tailgate. Hofstra was resilient and feisty and I thought Biscardi took us out of the game with the 2-minute penalty he received for a vicious hit. If this was the NHL, he would be looking at a long suspension. Tough game for McCormack today, but my biggest concern is UMass defenders getting beten one on one. Many of the Hofstra goals were unassisted. That said, I love the balanced attack of his team and I love 12-0. Really exciting day and a real nice crowd.

Yeah, we had a stretch where we gave Hofstra too many uncontested opportunities and that wasn't McCormack's fault. I'm sure the coaching staff will work on that. But it was a tremendous game, a great atmosphere, and our guys responded to adversity. I love our chances moving forward.

Isn't our D supposed to be better than the 2006 team with Reid and Deane and others??? Cellanti (spelling??) and Anderson with the backstop of Timmy should be almost a rock wall!!!
