They focused on UMASS pretty heavily right after the top 4 were announced. I actually think their coverage of the Minutemen has been pretty good. _________________ Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades |

This whole lacrosse thing infuriates me......
Anyway....our road is Colgate, then Duke/Cuse , then Hopkins if they get to Foxboro.
Yup, you guessed it....if all goes to the plan, we face the best player in the country in rd 1.....then the 3, 2, and 1 seeds.....easy as that for a national title. |

| That's true, they did do a bit at the start. But I'm just trying to fuel the shoulder chip! |

Greg Cannella takes the high road when asked about the horse shit 6 seed.
Oh well -- the team should be motivated for sure. _________________ Class of '08 |

| hopkins gets brained by navy, by far the worst loss of any at large team this year and they get a 2 seed. here's to taking games off and tremendous name recognition. |

Screw the lax mafia, the selection committee and ESPN. Losses to high ranked teams are weighed more heavily than winning games. It how the traditional power teams protect themselves. Play each other (and refuse to play games outside of that group) and then get the benefit of playing the game win or lose. These "tactics" will limit the growth of the sport in the long-run (which may be exactly what some of these programs want).
I think this gives us even more motivation. I was prepared for the low seed and was more concerned about the match-up. I did't want to Syracuse as even though they are having an off year, with the emotions of UMass/Syracuse, you never know what could happen. Colgate is a good team, but we should be able to take them if we play UMass lacrosse. Lets keep taking care of business Gorillas and rock the 'Gate at Garber. One game at a time.
Go UMass! |

| Honestly I am fine with our seed. The tourney board compared u's to a ND team years ago. No dominant team in tourney, I wouldn't be shocked to see cUse beat duke or lose by 10. We wouldn't have an easy route tofoxboro unless we got a 1 or 2 and I think we all knew that wouldn't happen. Time to prove em wrong or prove em right. I hope we prove em wrong |

Colgate is a scary team. Baum has been unstoppable at times. While Cannella took the high road, deep down it has to be discouraging. _________________ If only I could be as great a fan as Pierce9999.... |

In 2006, we were more of an upstart, played UVA in finals have no made much noise in a while.
As far as Colgate: No common opponents.

| Not a big lacrosse fan (don't know the game well enough) but I thought the committee chair's explanation for UMass' seed was about as weak an explanation as I've ever heard for anything. |

The host did a nice job grilling that selection committee member. Awkward. Good work, ESPN. _________________ Class of '08 |

Not true, we both played Army and Bucknell.
Colgate beat Army (15-13) and Bucknell twice (11-10, 14-9). We beat Army (12-9) and Bucknell (11-9), but those were our first two games of the season. _________________ I wrote this ... it's gotta be true. |
