ladies screwjob was even worse, they got the 14 seed and travel to maryland. |
Not a 14 seed. Just means they weren't in the top eight ... similar to the men's field. _________________ I wrote this ... it's gotta be true. |

Where would the second round game be played if we beat Colgate? Would we travel to Duke if they win or host Syracuse if they win. The guy from Syracuse was a tool and I feel that UMass was very disrespected. I am pretty pissed about this and I hope that we play like a team possessed and stomp the crap out of everyone in our way. _________________ Go UMass |

This is absurd. Totally absurd. Baum on Colgate is widely regarded as the best player in the nation and has been on literally a historic tear of late. He leads the nation in points by a wide margin and has already recorded more points than any single player since the Duke stud in 2008 (and I'm pretty sure he did that with an additional 3 or 4 tournament games). Colgate is one of the hottest teams in the country, coming off a win over Maryland this past weekend. It's incredibly discouraging to see this and some part of you has to wonder if part of the reason they got so screwed is because Canella is the absolute last guy in the world who'd ever bitch about this sort of thing. I realize that's a stretch, but could his great traits also subconsciously play into the committee's decision making? I'm reaching at straws here, but when you get this royally screwed, irrationality takes over. _________________ Muck Fax Page |

Thanks Kev. I would love it to be in Annapolis, then I could definitely go. _________________ Go UMass |

Just looked at bracket - it would be Philly. But first things first - business to take care of on Saturday.

The leader of the committee was a Towson and Johns Hopkins coach for many years. And he was clear on ESPN, that our SOS hurt us, and Denver's helped them, especially Out of conference SOS, which he basically implied hurt us more. It was about all they talked about, as ESPN pressed a bit.
Hey, every team has a great guy, what about our Attack, we have the 2nd or 3rd best O in the country, right? This is not basketball, where one tall guy rules.
We have scored as many as 18, and as few as 8, and still won all - how do you think Colgate is feeling? And what about our dominance on faceoffs last night?
I like our odds.
Second round, we play the Winner of 'Cuse and Duke. Nothing is easy, you must take.
In my view, the secret to UMASS will be avoiding dumb penalties, and being 'man down' very much. In playoff Lax, penalties are killers. _________________ Feeling entitled is JUST a feeling... |

All about face-offs.....if that kid, gets the ball enough, I'm guessing he'll put anew home. Same for our guys.
It's the one and only thing about the game on the field that i don't like. Face-offs are just too important, it seems to me. |

Hopefully Toresco plays against Colgate like he did against Drexel. _________________ If only I could be as great a fan as Pierce9999.... |

| Our seed is fair.....now that I've settled down. We played who we played and the traditional teams that were supposed to be strong (Harvard, Delaware etc.) sucked eggs this year. The fact that we get Duke/SU in the second round is tough. To see Toresco go against Costabile is going to be an epic FOGO matchup. I'd love to see Celentani spank Morasco and Desko though. Timmy Mac needs to be ON FIRE from here on out to bring home the gold though. I'm sure the spelling on the players names is wrong but you get the point. |

Looking again at how committee approached this and listening to Seaman's interview again on my DVR, I'll tell you something, if we didn't win the CAA, we may not have gotten an invite. That would have been something.....
Anyway, time to focus on Colgate. |

According to lax power guru, our RPI would have been 5 at worst if we
lost to Drexel.......you think they'd leave out 5th team in RPI? I don't. Maybe a road game, but we'd get in. If we would have been good enough for a top tier quality win, then we were good enough for at large.
But who knows.... |
