From an article in Friday's NYT - does college lax need a shot clock? In my view, the evidence is weak, and anecdotal, but there MAY need to be more time pressures to get the ball 'in the box'.

The only reason a shot clock is needed would be to meet the needs of the attention deficit challenged generation. Sorry, but there is absolutely no need for a gimmick shot clock.

"Shot clock" proposed for next season ... but only after a stall warning is on:

Not a fan of this.

Not a fan of the shot clock... am a fan of calling stall warnings quicker, and possibly making the box smaller.

Eliminating horns and making all subs on the fly comes from a good place, but it'll probably just lead to teams stalling more while waiting to make their subs.
