The facts don't lie folks. Spending under Obama at the federal level is growing at the slowest pace since the Eisenhower administration. Federal spending per person has fallen from $11,450 in 2009 (Bush's last budget) to $10,900 in the projected 2013 budget.

Has the deficit increased? Yes it has, because revenues fell with the recession.

What is my source? That bastion of liberalism known as the Wall Street Journal Marketwatch.

It boils down to what you count and how you count it.

if he's responsible for a 3% increase average per year, that's damn close to the inflation rate.

^ I do respect your economic intuition ktabz.

You know they also don't count the fact that the Bush Administration pushed the $700 billion TARP fund and got it through Congress, but they deferred spending half for the next administration.

In other words, if you want to support a candidate, you skew the statistics in his/her favor...

I'm all for ANY president that curbs spending... but keep in mind that President Clinton claimed a yearly budget surplus by skewing the numbers too.

If Obama is spending less, then great. I'm all for it and I want any Republican or Domicrat President to do the same.

Clinton also had surpluses from Social Security being put into the General Fund that made his budget seem better. Now that program is beginning to run deficits and Medicare/Medicaid is not far off from running deficits either. Want to curtail debt growth? Solve Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid.
